Most days I do okay, but I miss them so much sometimes. Can't help it. It was a year this month since I lost Rusty. Hug your furry friend today. Take them for that walk, even if you don't feel like it.

We used to ride out to the beach on our Vespas. I would put the lil' man in the milk crate on the back and he would terrify me by climbing out while I'm doing 40mph and snuggle up against my back. He had no fear. I wish I had a pic of him riding on the lower deck of the Vespa, leaning against my leg...LOVING it. He loved car and scooter rides SO much. Take your furry friend for a ride today! (Go on! Do it!)

I hope all my Rusty fam had a Merry Christmas or a happy holiday.. Thought I would share this custom drawing my neighbor friend did for us as a Christmas gift. We're Star Wars fans here, and so is he, so he combined 2 of our favorite things and really knocked it out of the park.Thanks, Josh!

Thanks, everyone, for all the love for Rusty. Like all things eventually, Rusty may have passed on, but our love for him and anyone else who may have cared about our little lunchbox carries on. Stay tuned in coming days and perhaps beyond as we share some pics from happier times.

Rusty fans, this is Bert here. The hardest day has come. Our little man woke up today, short of breath. We observed him through the morning but it didn't get any better. Eventually, we took him in to an emergency vet. The news came quickly and it wasn't good: fluid in his lungs, congestive heart failure...bad stuff. The options involved treating the condition with heavy medication to buy some time, or helping the best friend I've ever had to end his suffering.

Today I lost my friend and my heart is broken.
