Spotlight Wednesday: our D’Arce! D’Arce is a 4yr old German Shepard/Chow mix. He has been with his foster since he was born & continues to get overlooked. 😕 Typical of his breeds he is partial to one human but he also loves older kids! He needs to be the only pup in his home & will thrive if he’s the center of your animal companion world!

D’Arce is extremely smart and food motivated, & he picks up new skills quickly. He is potty trained & his crate is his safe space. He will do well in any type of home, but prefers little change with a laid back environment. D’Arce will need a patient transition into a new home because of how long he has been in his foster home, & while he is very much loved by his foster, he would thrive and be happier in an environment where he is the only pup. Once he gets to acclimate in his new home, he will be your buddy for life!

D’Arce is a simple guy who loves to just hang at home with his humans & play a good old game of tug of war or fetch (although having multiple balls can be a plus because sometimes he likes to chase the balls down without giving them back 😄). Oh, & naps are cool too! 😉

Dear rescue supporters: it's with heavy hearts we are letting you know we recently lost two precious lives: Remi and Wynonna.

Wynonna was one of our senior final refuge pups. Here is what her foster had to say: “Fostering senior final refuge dogs is a gift, to be able to show them love, that not all humans are evil and that they are priceless. When you foster them you know it will be a short time together, but whether it’s one day, one month or one year it is worth every second!! Yesterday I had to help Wynonna over the rainbow bridge, she was tired and her tiny body was done. She was the sweetest little nugget… and I will miss her spicy attitude🌶️!

Special shoutout to our amazing foster mom Teri who provided Wynonna a final refuge foster home. Rescue isn't easy, but having a foster like Teri who puts her heart on the line to care for these precious creatures in the end, is a gift to us, and definitely to them.🐾💝

Rest easy Wynonna and Remi - you may be gone but never forgotten. 🌈🌈🌈

Sloppy Joe (left) had so much fun making friends at our meet and greet event this weekend. This sweet 4 month old small/medium mixed breed boy is fixed, microchipped, and has had age appropriate vaccines. All he needs is a home of his own. 🩵 Sloppy Joe gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats, and respectful kids over the age of 5. He is crate trained and almost potty trained. Dear Rescue Supporters: here is an update on the parvo pups ❤️‍🩹

I am so sorry to report that we have lost two more babies tonight. I knew that this was going to be a particularly hard case with the condition that the puppies were in, but I always hold out for the most hope possible. Tonight is hard. Four lost in a matter of 18 hours. 💔
I am including a photo of the remaining five. They had bath night tonight. They are adorable and I am still holding out the most hope possible for them.
