Rosie has all the great qualities of a good dog. She’s cheerful, loving, athletic, attentive, and eager to get out and about; she adores her people and their company. Her favorite toy is a tennis ball, which means her most all-time favorite game in the world is Fetch. If you’ll throw that ball for her, Rosie will give you her heart and loyalty.

Introductions with other dogs have gone well. As always, should there already be dogs in the home, please bring them along for a meet and greet when considering adopting a shelter dog. It is the best way to ensure all dogs will get along.

So, should your family be looking for a new furry companion, please consider coming down to the Lassen County Animal Shelter to visit with Rosie. She’s such a wonderful girl and now our longest stay. About: Rocket is a JOY! He's been at the shelter since June and is a staff favorite. He's happy, affectionate, and playful. Rocket gets along with other dogs, cats, and children. He should be able to blend into a variety of households just fine. If you're looking for a new addition to the family, come meet Rocket. He'd LOVE to spend time with visitors.

PLEASE do not refer to a friendly cat as "feral" simply because he lives outside. The word feral means the exact opposite 🔁 of friendly and describes temperament ONLY.

Feral DOES NOT refer to a cat who is:
❌ Dirty
❌ Ear-tipped
❌ Homeless
❌ Unaltered
❌ Injured

🤔 A feral cat can be all those things, but those things don't make him feral.

Feral DOES refer to a cat who is:
🐈‍⬛ Unhandleable
🐈‍⬛ Unsocialized to humans
🐈‍⬛ Fearful of people
🐈‍⬛ More comfortable visiting at night

You may be asking yourself, "What difference does it make?".

Since adult "feral" cats are not socialized to people, they are likely to be euthanized if brought to shelters, so it is in their best interest to continue living outdoors. TRAP NEUTER RETURN is their best option for a better life. "Friendly" outdoor cats who are thriving and don’t have identification indicating they are lost can be fixed and returned to their outdoor home or fostered and adopted after a stray hold period.

The Lassen Humane Society 2024/2025 Annual Membership drive is now till August 31st.
In 2023 the LHS provided financial assistance to over 1100 spay and neuters. Join our cause. Get involved. LHS monthly meeting are held the 2d Wednesday of the month at 707 Nevada Street.

During one movie, there was a little goat on the set. 🐐
The guardian said hurry up and finish your scene because Sunday is my nephew's communion and we have to cook it on the grill!
I bought the animal and tied it with a rope and brought it to the five-star hotel. I took it up to my room, what a scandal!
That day I decided to leave the cinema and help the animals.
