He started working with wild animals at the age of 26. He and his wife started the nonprofit organization when Marine World Africa/USA dropped the big cat shows in favor of new park rides. They took in all 37 lions and tigers into their ranch until they eventually found good homes for most of the cats as they could not house all 37 for a long period of time. Nestled in the countryside of Montazuma

Hills, Wildlife Companions provides sanctuary to exotic wildlife. All animals receive medical care, housing, food, and an area for exercising.
