Thank you all for the amazing support! We have managed to bring in two sweet senior girls, each with their own health challenges.
We brought in Riley, a 16 year old ragdoll. She came to us this week as an owner surrender. Riley is in great health except for her poor rotten teeth :( She will be getting a full dental done which is a costly procedure. But, it will let her live the rest of her life in comfort and not pain.
Next we got Lilith from a local shelter. She’s estimated to be about 11 years old. Lilith is a sweet girl, who was becoming very shut down at the shelter. She is extremely obese, which is putting immense strain on the rest of her body. In just the short time she’s been with us, we are already seeing her open up, purr, and see the light return to her eyes. She will be going to the vet soon to ensure that she is in good health otherwise. It’s clear Lilith had an owner at some point but yet was never claimed. It’s unfortunately common for elderly cats, or cats with health problems, to be dumped or left behind.
All the other seniors at the shelter are safe! They are receiving exceptional care, and will be placed with other rescues as possible. They are in no danger ❤️
AAR receives no government funding. While we do receive some funding from local organizations, the majority of our funding comes from regular members of our amazing communities. We do rely fully on donations to cover the staggering vet bills and other expenses we accrue throughout the year. If you can donate, share, or volunteer, please do! It’s you that allows us to help these poor animals, and we can’t do it without you. AAR is a registered charity, tax receipts available for all monetary donations.
