This was a quick informal film I grabbed of Bonnie and I the other day. She is 13 now and the blanket helps her to walk more securely. I filmed this to help teach my Advanced class as a very quick demo of how we work on keeping cue/behaviour separate from reward placement. This makes it clear what the dog is offering to do, to earn the marker ā€˜good girlā€™ ideally without the food reinforcer being a prompt or lure for that behaviour. Marking the behaviour at the point of contact, the reinforcer coming afterwards - in a different location. It also becomes easier to fade the hand signal to the post-it note target, because itā€™s so clear to her what to target to earn the verbal marker-reward. Just the post it note, not my hand. You can see her learning this a few repetitions in. Anyway, itā€™s an informal demo so, enjoy the analysis!

Hereā€™s a nice example of at-home interaction between an older dog and a new puppy. The measured pace, the pauses, thereā€™s a steady ā€˜getting to know youā€™ element too. . . . . #puppy #newpuppy #dogbehaviour #puppybehaviour

This is an example of when Pickles offered a behaviour and I just captured it. I have no idea why he sat back that way, but anyway, I put it on cue with my hands doing a mimicking behaviour. It looks like heā€™s copying me (he isnā€™t!) #dogtraining #dogbehaviour
