Congratulations to PAWS Transports for the acquisition of this beautiful van! A HUGE thank you to Mary and David for all of your helping us acquire it. And thank you to Barb, Madelyn and Ally Turner for getting it ready for those first couple of runs (buying supplies, collecting crates, etc.) There is still a lot to do to get it 100%, but it is rolling!

If you don't know, PAWS moves an average of 60-80 dogs every two weeks from shelters and rescuers in Missouri to rescues in Minnesota and Illinois and other northern states. Basically all of those dogs move through St. Louis. This van is going to be so helpful in getting those larger numbers into and out of St. Louis!

This acquisition unfortunately comes with additional expenses (purchase cost, insurance, repair costs -- one tire repair already), which have dipped into our gas fund.

Update on Mia, now Ivy. (From yesterday)
Mia/Eva had her surgery this afternoon. She did fantastic! They put a plate in to repair the main break. The surgeon feels dealt good about the outcome. She's home with her foster mom now and even tried to stand up already. I think they say was a huge success.

When my Susie had her first adjustments on her hips, which she managed to dislocate, she immediately jumped from the vet and went to me. Then she turned around and went back and sent me his lap. Obviously, it's startled her at first, and then she realized that whatever he did was a good thing.
