At BirchBark, much of our energy and attention is dedicated to preserving life - to ensuring that no family has to say goodbye to a pet due to financial hardship. But as keenly aware as we are of the pain of loss, we know equally that love endures beyond life.

We see the expression of that love every week in our Pet Loss Grief support program, and we were reminded of it this past month when we received a generous grant from Robin Kraut. Robin, who had a lifelong love of animals and devoted much of her time to animal rescue, left the majority of her estate to animal charities, including BirchBark, in the hope of helping animals in need.

Because of Robin's gift, we will be able to serve an additional 180 pets over the next year. Robin's legacy reminds us that love continues to ripple out beyond the limits of life - healing, protecting, and giving hope.
