✨ HUGE VOLUNTEER WEEKEND!!! ✨

I’m throwing a massive last minute volunteer weekend this Saturday AND Sunday (21 & 22)!! I have been dealing with so many issues with fencing and infrastructure here at the sanctuary and the further along I get in this pregnancy the harder it is to handle the cows getting out or the goats jumping over the fences. Thankfully, our amazing friends, and co rescuers Chrissie Lynn Pierce and Tim Pierce have been able to come help me when needed but before this baby comes BIG things have to get done. So we have pieces of equipment and building materials coming this weekend to help facilitate in getting some MASSIVE projects done. We will be repairing and concreting in fence posts and boards that Sassy the cow has decided to Kool-Aid man right through, along with adding hot fence as an extra form of deterrent. We will also be building an entire new goat area with taller fencing so our large goats can no longer jump the fence like deer lol. We also have an amazing donation of a building coming on Saturday that will need to be assembled and a secondary building in a box that also needs to be assembled. Along with that Tim will also be tearing down our dilapidated garage that desperately needs to come down and a smaller mini barn that is on its last leg. Time permitting we would also like to try and get the dogs new area fenced in and set up. We know this is A LOT to get done but we only have this equipment for the weekend and this is the first few sunny days we’ve had in quite some time so we want to take advantage of every second we can. If you would like to help but aren’t really into the hard labor aspect of volunteering that is totally ok! We have tons of other projects that are less labor intensive that will help us be able to get these things accomplished! We are going to be starting around 8am on both days and going well into the evenings. So please come by at any time! If you can only come for an hour, that’s ok! Many hands make light work and we need as many as we can get! If you have able bodied friends that you think might like to help please invite them as well! The more the merrier! We hope to see as many of yall as possible!

I haven’t really shared anything about my pregnancy journey on here, because it’s been such a rough one, but I thought this was too cute and so appropriate for this group not to share…

On my pregnancy tracker app it shows that right now the baby is the size of a kitten! How cute to think about it in that sense 🐱

We were just at lunch and got a message that the last sibling to the highway kittens from last night was found. So she was just dropped off to us too. Thankfully she appears rather healthy. We are at the vet now getting her combo tested and also getting her poor brother some fluids and a b12 injection. He is really struggling and we are hoping this will help get him over this hump. We ended up naming these 3 Beaux, Bonnie and Beauty. Please send them all the positive thoughts, vibes and prayers you can- especially Beaux.

Ok kitten distribution system, you can chill out for a minute or two please…let me catch my breath!

This morning we had Leah, the sick little floof ball kitten, dropped off to us at the vet.

Then while we were just dropping off 2 of the spays we got done today, the people had caught and handed us another little stray calico kitten.

THEN while we were driving home from there, we got a message from a woman that found 2 kittens on the side of the highway. So we just met her and picked those up.

4 kittens- all of which will need medical treatment for one or multiple things. This is exactly what I was talking about in the previous post where it literally NEVER stops. We will be taking these 2 new kittens up to the vet in the morning to get combo tested and some meds. (We got the calico combo tested today on the way home before we got the message about the two highway kittens- she is negative for both!)

We named the little calico girl Lemonade but need names for these two new floofy siblings.

Also, we need more fosters!! Please message us if you cann foster even one cat or kitten! It helps save lives!!

Also, also…SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR FREAKING CATS!! Enough is enough!
