Gentle Giant Saved From Slaughter Pipeline
This big boy came to our sanctuary 2 days ago after he found himself on his way to slaughter. He is an ex Amish work horse that had been worked until his poor body had given out. His note said “broke to all types of farm equipment” 💔. This is the exact same situation that our current draft mare Lainie found herself in as well. Worked until her body literally broke. Thankfully he will never ever have to endure another day of work and will get all of the love and tlc that he likely never experienced as simply a piece of equipment.
He arrived to the sanctuary and when I say he is the most gentle and kind temperamented horse I have ever met in my life, it is truly an understatement. Despite his kind disposition, his body is in pretty rough shape. You can see hips, ribs and spine and he is covered in nicks and cuts. Thankfully all of these can be resolved over time with the right diet, vet care and tons of TLC. For now he is in quarantine until we can get all the proper medical intake done then he will join our 2 remaining horses Buddy and Lainie.
We started running a fundraiser on our other platforms and these are the remaining amounts we would like to fundraise for to get him all the care he needs. If you are able to donate to help us continue his care we would be very appreciative 🤍 No amount is too small.
