We are dedicated to teaching ALL levels of dog agility; in conjunction with personalized canine fitness training, to help properly develop canine athletes to reach untapped levels of potential through both fitness & sport. Our mission: to transform dog agility teams by optimizing the strength, proprioception, balance, & cardiovascular health of each individual canine athlete. We are currently based out of Saint Matthews, South Carolina; there is currently an outdoor, artificial turf space of 150’ x 85’ for agility training that is soon to be covered to include a functional fitness space as well! Virtually, we currently work with students all across the globe through mobile and online platforms; providing one-to-one coaching, virtual seminars, & online self-study courses as well. Bio/Background:

Laurren Bastian is most widely known for being a multi-time dog agility national finalist and winner across multiple organizations of the sport. She currently shares her life with four amazing dogs: Dublin, Savage, Denali, & Maestro! She is a ‘Handling 360’ graduated handler and alumni that has contributed globally recognized material to both the ‘Handling 360’ and ‘Agility Nation’ online handling programs ran by Susan Garrett. Most of her current training philosophy has a strong verbal cue base due to this, but she has also worked with multiple European-based agility coaches in her learning experience; which gives her a firm understanding of body positioning and motion cues as well. She only uses positive reinforcement for training all of her dogs, as she feels it is especially critical during agility training. Since starting to compete, Laurren & her incredible canine athletes have accomplished multiple organizational championship titles in UKI, USDAA, & AKC. She has placed top 10 in countless divisional regional and National Championships in USDAA and UKI; most notably winning Reserve National Champion at the UKI Canadian Open Championships in 2023! We love our SWIT // Neurobalance System products provided by STAR Performance Products!!

Without these tools, my dogs would not recover and perform as well as they do, day in and day out during practices & at major events. We use our Swit+ coat and blanket daily at my home to keep the dogs feeling their best, recovering super quickly, and performing at their highest level possible.

NAC is a wrap and Sundae finished strong by winning her third AKC National Agility Championship! I've gotten some messages recently asking how Sundae utilizes SWIT and what her routine looks like. On her way to NAC she used the blanket on relax the entire drive. Once there, her blanket went in her crate on calm for the down time before/between runs. I like to keep her mind from getting too amped up with all the commotion going on around her. Before she runs I warm her up nice and early to get her going - but I do not ever use SWIT for activate or vitalize (for her) before runs. Uses are very dog dependent so you need to observe your dog with the different settings, durations and intensities. She is already "high" enough before runs that adding more pump up vibes to her brain is not a wise choice 🤣. After she runs I put her jacket on her on regenerate (closer to the body and allows her to be mobile cooling down). The amount of time is dependent on how hard she just worked and how much time I've got before she runs again. If it was as tough session of course work and she's done for the day, I give her an hour. If it was just one run and she's going to be running again she normally gets 20-40 minutes depending the intensity of the run she just had. At the end of the competition day I will usually give her another hour or 2 on a blanket on regenerate while hanging out on a couch. When she's ready for bed I will turn it on relax for some hours for her to fall asleep on. Like a dog basking in the sun, she seeks it out but will get up if she's had enough. I did a small regenerate session the next morning to start the next day of competition.

SWIT is used daily at my house (lots of regenerate and relax sessions during the week too even when no competitions). I do a lot of things to keep Sundae at her best including regular body work, keeping her fit, being very aware of how much wear and tear I put on her etc. But in all of that, SWIT plays a vital role in how she recovers and her body's ability to be ready to go again.

I just wanted to thank FlatOut Dogs for coming to South Carolina this week - all three days of seminars were absolutely incredible 🥹 Aaron and Joe are absolute treasures and I wish they lived here all year round! Being a student with my dogs is one of my favorite things on this planet & I cherished every second of the last few days - so thank you both for being so supportive & making everyone feel accomplished ❤️ The weather was picture perfect for February- the dogs had an incredible time! Super thanks to Patty for working her butt off to provide the best possible outdoor surface for our dogs to run on all week - it still looks 💯 and will be ready for the trial starting tomorrow ☀️ Thank you to all the participants who came out - I really enjoyed hosting all of you! Some coming from as far as Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦 and Colorado 🏔️ to learn from Aaron & Joe - just the best group of supportive individuals and I wouldn’t want it any other way!
