Jaajee lived in Alaska as an Eskimo dog. He literally lived in the wild for a few years of his young life. He is 9 years old now and was adopted 1-1/2 years ago by a local family. He is a beautiful Karelian Bear dog and his name, Jaajee, is an Eskimo word for snow shoe. I’m grateful for the opportunity to groom him today! 🩵

I got a call last evening to groom Archie, and I happened to have one open spot today. He was just adopted yesterday and severely matted.

He was so sweet until I got close to his head and then he really wanted to bite me! 😅 We’ll work on that!

While I was grooming Bella, I noticed the tattoo inside of her ear, so I had to get the story.

Bella was used as a race dog and rescued when she was two. She is now 9 years old and has a wonderful family to care for her. They weren’t planning on getting her as they already had two greyhounds, but no one else wanted her, so they added her to their crew of rescues. 🩷

Deshedding is so satisfying! Good products, time in the tub, force drying and brushing removes so much of the dead undercoat.

Some pups don’t want their face touched at all, which makes trimming it pretty interesting! Mochi is not perfect, but cleaner and cooler for sure!

This may not look like a successful groom, but it’s not about looks for Pepper. Pepper was rescued about 2 months ago from a hoarding situation and taken in by a very kind couple. She’s made great strides since she has been with them and I have no doubt she will be a great addition to their family. Pepper was very matted and anxious. With her mom’s help, we were able to get the matts out and clip the nails. All things considered, she did great, and will feel so much better! 🥰

I had the opportunity to groom a new mom today. Maya is a Bernadoodle with nine 1-week old puppies. Maya is so well behaved and was giving me kisses throughout the groom. 🥰

It was pretty tempting to say, “I’ll take one!” Her temperament is exactly what I would want. 💖

I am loving the cute puppies! This is Milo’s first groom.

The goal of a first groom is not a perfect cut, but a pleasant experience for the puppy. I only do as much as they can handle and give lots of love and treats along the way. Building a trusting relationship is crucial to a successful future of grooming.

Today was Jack’s first van groom and he wasn’t so sure about it at first, but after a nice warm bath, head massage and treats, he warmed up to me! We worked out a lot of undercoat, shaved paw pads and dremeled the nails. He’s clean and happy!
