Rabbits that have never been litter trained will constantly drop "bunny berries" and p*e when and where they feel like it.
Although I have had much success with litter training new rabbits of all ages, by far the best litter trained ones are those that were started very young.
The bucks I have brought in from other rabbitries eventually mostly litter train. But our home grown bucks are completely litter trained to a degree that the others never get to no matter how long they've been litter training for.
Blackberry keeps a very clean cage with little mess outside of his litter box. Cleaning his cage is like nothing. And when he free-ranges our house, there is very little cleanup after him.
This is the level of litter training many people desire for their free-range indoor rabbits and I'm very happy we are able to get our babies this well trained, even the males.

We already have a Zoe and my kids said she looks like a bee so we call her HoneyBee.
She's so sweet and calm. So easy to hold. My kids and I are obsessed with her. 🥰

My poor fluffball isn't a fluffball anymore! 😭😭😭

Note to self: The occasional brushing is NOT sufficient. Need to up my brushing game.

As per the recommendation of more experienced people, shaving her was in the best interest of the both of us since the upkeep of fuzzy fur is hardest when they're young and she got matted FAST!

It wasn't bad at all for either of us.

By the way, I always want to call her Vivian so that's what I'm naming her. 🥰

I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep her long term but I'm certainly going to try to maintain her fur. I got some black oil sunflower seeds to help.

Rapunzel had her babies! All dilute colors. You have to get fairly close to see the markings. I should be able to see them better later tonight.
Looks like there are a couple tri colors.

This is her smallest litter by far! She has had litters of 7-10 before but only 4 this time.

Finally some haystashing! I haven't seen her do anything but digging until now.
Earlier, I had to palpate her to make sure I still felt babies. Yep, felt them moving, too.
Just a waiting game but it's getting closer!

I'm most looking forward to some sable magpies. She and Beau/Coco had some in their last litter but they didn't make it. Beautiful babies. Hopefully they'll have more this time.

If you want experience with palpating does, I'd suggest palpating when the doe is about 1-1.5 weeks away from giving birth. You can really start to feel them at that time.
Earlier on, a doe's stomach will feel soft and fairly empty. But by 3.5 weeks, you should be able to feel the hard objects that weren't there before.
If you don't feel anything different from before, you'll be able to tell a full week or more sooner that the doe didn't take, or that she is pregnant for sure. That's far better than waiting all day on her due date, expecting a litter that's not coming, or second guessing them when they are pregnant and on the verge of giving birth.

Snowball has been bred to Macchiato! 🥰

Can't wait to see what they produce together. This is the first time they have been paired.

I'm most hoping for chocolate and black White Ears. They have a huge variety of colors they could make though.

This is a pedigreed litter.

I get so many color guesses wrong when I try determining their color at birth. I really should wait until 1 week before determining color. 🤣

Cupcake's litter is a week old. Here's my updated color guesses:

-Broken chocolate chestnut?
-Tri color
-Broken Cream
-Black tort

It's a bit early but I think there is one doe and three bucks.

DONE! Again.

Stacker #2 is complete.

This one took an estimated 11 hours to put together. The first one took somewhere in the range of 15-20 hours because I was figuring things out as I went. I had only built single cages of various sizes before.

Have you discovered the awesomeness of vinegar yet?
I would have had no hope of scrubbing these calcium stains off with just a scrubber. But drowning it in vinegar helped get rid of the stains fast. It's like brand new!

What an absolute ball of fluff! I didn't even know her parents carried the fuzzy gene. Surprise!
I love her fluff, I love her light coloring, and I love her blue eyes. She's such a sweet girl, too.

We love our broken magpie girls!
Purty is a broken black magpie.
Pepper is a broken blue magpie.

I love broken magpies but I'm looking forward to some solid magpies.

Maybe Rapunzel will be more successful with making solid magpies. Purty is her daughter and Pepper is her granddaughter.

The sable baby isn't as light as my lilac sable. I'm not sure what color it is.

Isn't it nice when your animals give birth before bedtime so you don't have to get up a million times in the middle of the night to see if they had their babies and everything is going well?!
