Journey won Winners Dog and Best of Opposite S*x today at the Ridgefield Washington AKC dachshund speciality show! Another point toward his champion title. I am so proud of him, not for his wins, but because he is my best boy, and he tried so hard and strutted his stuff with confidence. Huge thank you to Jen Smith Milo for breeding his mom Solo, to Michelle Kutzler for allowing me to co-own Solo, and to Dolores Belden for allowing us to breed Solo to her Grand Champion boy Lucky, to produce Journey. And also huge thank you to Jordin Wallis for your invaluable handling classes! You have helped us grow leaps and bounds so far!

This isn't a win photo. This candid photo was taken by Skinny Dog Photography during the Hillsboro Hound specialty conformation show recently while Solo and I were in the ring.

My heart just feels so full, when I gaze into my dogs' eyes and see so much love and joy shining back at me. This is a pretty goofy picture, but it makes me so happy.

While I do show my dogs in conformation, that is only a very small aspect of our lives together. We cuddle, we sleep together, (Solo sleeps on top of my chest every single night, that is her special chosen spot) we explore the neighborhood together, we scent hunt rats and rabbits (no animals are harmed), we play, and we love each other. My dogs are everything to me.

Yesterday at Earthdog, Solo qualified in Intro to Quarry, and then she earned her very first leg in Novice! I am so very proud of her.

Solo is also known as my Cuddle Queen. ❤ She is ALWAYS in my lap any time I am on the couch, and she sleeps on top of my chest every single night. She is my comfort and my love. I couldn’t be more grateful to her breeders Amanda Hodges and Jen Smith Milo, and to my mentor and co-owner, Dr Michelle Kutzler who whelped Solo.

I love all my dogs more than anything in this world. They are each exceptionally sweet and they are each loved for their unique selves. Solo is just so special to me, and I am so honored to be her mom.

Journey’s Winners Dog win photo from last weekend. I am so utterly proud of this boy, and so excited to see what the future holds for him. After taking Winners Dog on Saturday, he went on to qualify in Intro to Quarry in Earthdog on Sunday!

Thank you Jen Smith Milo for this beautiful photo of my man, and for entrusting me with your bloodline via his mom Solo! And thank you as well to Michelle Kutzler for Solo and Journey as well. And, thank you to Delores Belden for allowing Michelle and me to breed Solo to Lucky. They sure made some pretty puppies together!

She has been in one TV commercial so far, and this is her audition video to represent PetMeds (1800PetMeds) basically as their ambassador!

It would mean so much to me if she was able to get this role. It could open up a lot of opportunities for her to star in additional TV commercial work, and she absolutely adores being in front of the camera, working her little heart out for some cheddar cheese. In addition, this opportunity could help me pay off some personal medical bill debts. Ultimately, I just love this little girl, and I would be so thrilled to get to share her sweet, loving personality with the world.

This is Locket (girl) and Journey (boy) formerly known as Dusty Boots and Ned Nederlander of the Three Amigos. (Boy on our left and girl on our right.) They are such good puppies and I love them so very much. ❤ I am loving experiencing their individual personalities blossom and shine. Locket is a feisty girl, always chewing on and wrestling with her brother. Journey is more contemplative and he likes to quietly take things in. Journey is going to be my next show dog, if he matures well. Locket will be going home with my co-owner Dr Michelle Kutzler when she is 8 weeks old.

Solo’s puppies eating their very first dog food meal yesterday!

Solo’s puppies are just over two weeks old today. Yesterday I gave them their first, two week, pyrantel for routine deworming, and today they got their first toe nail trims!

In the pictures, when you can’t see the girl’s light blue collar, the boy is the one who has more bold tan markings, and he has the more prominent Roman nose as well. He is also the bigger of the two puppies and has been since birth.

So I just wanted to announce, after many touch and go moments, a day and a half of hard labor, and 4 emergency vet visits, Solo’s puppies are here.

Welcome to the world, the Three Amigos (now the Two Amigos, as we lost Lucky Day after her first 24 hours). We have Ned Nederlander, a black and tan male smooth miniature dachshund, and Dusty Bottoms, a black and tan smooth female miniature dachshund. Both are slowly gaining weight and Solo is doing a great job being a mom.

The female is the one with the aqua colored collar and the male has no collar on.
