Fancy Donskoy Cats Donskoys are very distinctive breeds that appear to be hairless which makes them easy to groom. They are very patient and loving and make excellent pets.

The Donskoy cat is very distinctive, being essentially hairless with extremely wrinkled skin, giving the body the appearance of leather or suede at first glance. They originated in Russia, and were originally known as a Don Sphynx cat. This cat possesses other unusual characteristics, too: long, dexterous, webbed toes with which they can grasp objects, and a tendency to take on their owner’s pers

onality, and a high body temperature. Donskoy Cats are medium-sized, with a muscular, well-boned body and long, strong legs and tail. They have a uniquely-shaped head, with large shell-type ears and almond-shape eyes. They are born bald, with very fine hair (Flocked), or wavy-coated (Velour), but most lose any hair they are born with by 2 years of age. Being hairless, this cat does not shed at all, so no combing is required, and they are really good in a home with allergy sufferers. Their body temperature is higher than normal for cats, so they need to eat more food than most cats, and they do sweat, so regular wiping and bathing is needed. The only health concern is the possibility of sunburn, so their skin must be protected against cancer. Donskoy Cats have an enchanting personality, being smart, lively, patient and loyal. They love games, and are quite inventive at coming up with new ones to entertain you. These loving kitties do tend to be a little jealous, so it is recommended that you only have one cat in your home if you are going to own a Donskoy
