Our Story

Our story began between 2011-2012, It was around that time that Oso, our very first Guinea Pig, entered our lives. At first we thought about getting a chinchilla, but after a lot of thought we decided to adopt a Guinea Pig. Guinea pigs seemed to work better for our life style. Don't get me wrong we love all small critters, Its just that pigs were the best fit for us. After about a month of searching we found Oso! He is the almost albino Abyssinian. A couple of weeks later we adopted Sonic, a smooth american satin. Several years past then Ollie, a cream colored Ridge Back, was added to the family.

From personal experience, lots of research and studying we learned how to properly care for our Guinea Pigs. These beautiful, intellectual, sentient little beings entered our lives and hearts. They aren't just pets they are members of the family.

In the beginning we used wood shaving bedding. The wood shavings were very messy , shavings would get stuck in our carpet. We would have to use a broom to sweep our carpet and then vacuum just to get the shavings out. The wood shavings would clog our vacuum and leave shavings dust everywhere. One day we noticed Oso, who was now very old in Guinea pig years, was having trouble pooping and seemed very sick. We took him to the vet to find out he was eating the wood shavings bedding!
