We knew that Inca would move to a very loving home, but not that her new big sister would love her this much! How cute is this? π₯°

Silva and Inca (formerly Tia) enjoyed a last sleep-over playdate this weekend before Inca starts her new life adventure π

Orca and I ended up at as no. 22 out of 207 medium teams at FCI Agility European Open 2022 Belgium π§πͺβ¨οΈπͺππ©π°
It was a huge achievement to just qualify, but after getting over the first excitement about our qualification, I actually felt a bit mixed about it all as I didn't feel that we really belonged there and that we had taken up a spot on the Danish Team from faster teams.. But looking back, it was really unnessesary - we did belong there! Orca and I will never be fast enough to run in the top, but we are f**king awesome together and we made it all the way to the individual final! It is only experience and speed that inhibit us from crawling up on the result list πͺπ₯β€οΈ
The final course was made for us - good lines with a limited amout of collection to kill Orca's motivation, nice distances and lots of speed and flow that also challenged the handlers' physical capacity. Just as we like it π€©π₯ππͺ I knew we could nail that course if I didn't get too affected by the situation - and if you just blink at the right moment it was close to what I had dreamt of β€οΈ
I enjoyed every second running Orca at the final, but I also felt the pressure and my complete non-existing experience in running such a big international competition and it ended up causing a refusal and +7s. In tense split second, I decided to not stick with the handling plan, I made at the course walk with backside send and flick at the two jumps after the seesaw. I confused myself and it ruined my flow and overview which affected the subsequent sequence where I forgot a blind cross before the tunnel under the dogwalk. I knew a rear cross would make Orca turn tight after the tunnel and make it impossible for me to reach a position and line where I would be able to push her back to her line - and it that was exactly what happended. After the refusal, I was going to just carry on with next backside send as I am so used to not correcting faults when running Orca an

Tia and Kahlua turned 7 weeks yesterday!
I haven't been good at updating the last weeks, so I thought I would make a little movie with glimps of their last two-three weeks. They are just amazing! β€οΈ
Co-parenting on a beautiful, sunny summerday βοΈ
Penny is having a blast socializing the chunky fluffers! π¨π€ΈββοΈ It is like seeing Orca with the kittens we had last year. Just adorable.
..And Saga make sure everything is done okay! She is such a good momma β€οΈ
Kahlua and Tia are two weeks old and have started their transition from fragile, helpless and dependent little fur dumplings to individuals with an emerging sense of themselves and the world around πππΈ
Their eyes are opening and they are slowly getting more and more mobile and active. Actually, Kahlua took her first little wobbly steps today πΎβ€οΈ
Saga still supply them with plenty of highly nutritious milk (as you might see π) and they are now both almost 1 kg now! πΌβοΈ
Orca is struggling with salty sidewalks and when the temperatures drop to under -10, so we went out to buy some boots for her..
Well, it wasn't quite instant love ππ
No pups for Ox π
It was a tough decision as Orca is my heart dog and very special to me. She is always with me, my soul mate and emotional support. She has passed her OFAs and she is the most loyal, cuddly, loving and trainable little girl. But life was difficult for her and it has taken a lot of work to get her to where she is now.. I believe genetics play a big role in mentality and eventhough temperament is improving in the breed, we still have a way to go. So eventhough, Orca is perfect for me, that I really wanted a girl from her and could have placed all pups with friends that love Orca despite her issues with insecurity and reactivity and would have been able to handle it, it just wouldn't feel right..
Moreover, as she got order, her heat started to affect her mentally and I started to see a pattern where her drive in agility dropped as she started cycling. It came to a point where she more or less only ran with joy and drive in anestrus. I really hope that she will be more stabile now - for her, for us and for her agility career β€
We did the neuter laparoscopicly yesterday. She fell asleep with me and woke up in my arms β€οΈ Just as she needed. The video is from where I take out the last ovary βοΈ Laparoscopy is really cool - only two very small incisions are needed so I hope we are ready for the World Agility Open try-outs in the end of February!
Orca working with distractions π #kleekaichaos
We have been working on (only) verbal commands from a distance for the last weeks and besides being such a backtalker, she is doing great and we're now more or less ready to add the next command πͺ
