I’m curious to hear from all of you! Socializing our dogs can come with a variety of challenges, and I’d love to know what you’ve found the hardest. For me, one of the biggest hurdles was how everyone wanted to engage with my fluffy ball of retriever. She was so adorable that it was hard for people to resist, but I often had to politely ask them to give her space, especially when she was in a more sensitive mood. 🐶

🐾 Reactivity Myth Busting! 🐾

There’s a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to reactivity in dogs. Let’s clear up some common myths and get to the truth! 💡

1️⃣ There. Is. No. Alpha.
Your dog isn’t trying to dominate you or others. The idea of "alpha" dogs is outdated and harmful. Your dog just needs understanding and support! 🙌

2️⃣ Reactive Doesn’t Mean Aggressive.
There are so many reasons a dog can be reactive, and most of them have nothing to do with aggression. It’s all about emotions and how they process the world around them.

3️⃣ Exposure Won’t Help.
Throwing your dog into stressful situations isn’t going to magically fix reactivity. In fact, they need space and time to feel safe and decompress. 🧘‍♀️

4️⃣ You Are Not To Blame.
It breaks my heart how many people blame themselves for their dog’s reactivity. Sure, we all make mistakes—me included! But remember, there are many factors that contribute to reactivity, and it’s usually not you. 🐶💕

Reactivity is complex, but with patience and the right tools, you can help your dog feel more at ease in the world. Let's keep busting these myths and supporting our dogs in the best way possible! 💛

🌟 Success Story: Loki's Journey 🌟

Meet Loki, a 10-year-old Mini American Eskimo who was struggling with reactivity. His owner, Michelle, was determined to help him feel more comfortable and confident. Even at 10 years old, Loki showed us that it’s never too late to seek help and make positive changes! 🐾

Together, we worked on understanding Loki’s unique triggers and taught Michelle how to support him through those tough moments. Now, Loki is navigating his world with much more ease, and Michelle can spot those small signs before things escalate. 🙌

Consistency is key, and with a little patience and the right tools, Loki has made amazing progress. 💛 Whether your dog is a puppy or a senior, it’s never too late to help them live a more peaceful, happy life.
