Crown Fire Border Collies . Our kennel is named in honor of my grandfather, Don Young, and his prized Appaloosa D's Hands Up "King D".

They competed nationwide and earned invitations to the National Appaloosa Horse Show three different years. Their drive, passion, and ambition was an inspiration to me and is what drives me in dog shows and events. I hope to one day have as many ribbons, trophies, and medals as they did and eventually work to improve the Border Collie and German Shorthaired Pointer breeds like my grandfather did with Appaloosas.

✨ Exciting News ✨

After much thought and reflection, we’ve decided it’s time for a new chapter. King D’s Kennels will now be known as Crown Fire Border Collies.

When we first started out, our vision looked a little different. But as our journey has unfolded, so has our focus. Since bringing Revy into our lives and being welcomed so warmly into the incredible Border Collie community, we’ve found where our true passion lies – with this remarkable breed.

While we wanted our new name to reflect this shift, we also wanted to honor where our story began. King D was the name of my late grandfather’s beloved horse, and his memory is what inspired us to begin our journey into dog sports in the first place. And of course, Revy – our spark, our “little fire” – is forever a part of the story as well. Together, they inspired Crown Fire Border Collies.

We’re so thankful for all of the love and support we’ve received so far, and we hope you’ll continue to follow along with us as we grow in this exciting new direction. Here’s to the next chapter! 🐾❤️

One of our goals this year is to keep our kennel pages more up-to-date, so to hold ourselves to that we thought there was no better post to start that off with than the results of our first show of the 2025 year, UKC's SEAEDA show in Jefferson, GA.

Revy brought home 1x Best Female and 1x Best of Winners, her second competition win, of the three needed for her CH! We couldn't be more proud of how much progress we've made through the years. Looking at this photo and thinking back to our first show really makes us realize how far we've come as a team ❤️. Congratulations, Revy- the small fire that has kept us burning!

Revy has been keeping me busy in disc, which we love. We've done both regular and agility crossovers, which was the first time she's ever seen more than a DIY jump, and she did amazing. Didn't even drop a bar.

Our goal is to compete in disc (and a few other sports: dock jumping, and maybe conformation) at the Border Collie Nationals this year in November.

Earlier this month, Revy also joined me in the ring at the Kentuckiana Border Collie Specialty. This was our first AKC show and specialty, and with the help of some amazing friends (ohhhh did it take a village), we had a wonderful first experience. We are far from perfect, but we are way farther than where we started, and I couldn't be more proud of us as a team.

Gunnersaurus also got in on the action this weekend, at the Cherry Blossom Festival's Ultimate Air Dogs event, taking 2nd in the Senior division with a 13ft jump. He struggled a bit on Saturday to find his groove, but once he found it, in typical Gunnersaurus fashion he outdid himself everytime he got back on the dock.

Revy had an outstanding weekend competing in the Cherry Blossom Festival's Ultimate Air Dogs event, placing 1st in Novice with a little over 9ft jump! She also figured out the "chase it" method, so it looks like we will be jumping back into dock jumping. For only the fourth time Revy has ever stepped for on the dock, I couldn't have asked for more, and honestly got more than I expected.

I couldn't be more proud 💕🥰
