King D's Kennels We are kennel located in McDonough, GA that focuses on German Shorthaired Pointers and Border Collies

Our kennel is named in honor of my grandfather, Don Young, and his prized Appaloosa D's Hands Up "King D". They competed nationwide and earned invitations to the National Appaloosa Horse Show three different years. Their drive, passion, and ambition was an inspiration to me and is what drives me in dog shows and events. I hope to one day have as many ribbons, trophies, and medals as they did and e

ventually work to improve the Border Collie and German Shorthaired Pointer breeds like my grandfather did with Appaloosas.

Revy has been keeping me busy in disc, which we love. We've done both regular and agility crossovers, which was the first time she's ever seen more than a DIY jump, and she did amazing. Didn't even drop a bar.

Our goal is to compete in disc (and a few other sports: dock jumping, and maybe conformation) at the Border Collie Nationals this year in November.

Earlier this month, Revy also joined me in the ring at the Kentuckiana Border Collie Specialty. This was our first AKC show and specialty, and with the help of some amazing friends (ohhhh did it take a village), we had a wonderful first experience. We are far from perfect, but we are way farther than where we started, and I couldn't be more proud of us as a team.

Gunnersaurus also got in on the action this weekend, at the Cherry Blossom Festival's Ultimate Air Dogs event, taking 2nd in the Senior division with a 13ft jump. He struggled a bit on Saturday to find his groove, but once he found it, in typical Gunnersaurus fashion he outdid himself everytime he got back on the dock.

Revy had an outstanding weekend competing in the Cherry Blossom Festival's Ultimate Air Dogs event, placing 1st in Novice with a little over 9ft jump! She also figured out the "chase it" method, so it looks like we will be jumping back into dock jumping. For only the fourth time Revy has ever stepped for on the dock, I couldn't have asked for more, and honestly got more than I expected.

I couldn't be more proud 💕🥰

I present UKC CH KDK's Strutting My Daisy Dukes UJJ SPOT-ON

Daisy Dukes finished her conformation career with a bang in Jefferson, GA, with not one, but TWO RBiS as well as three Best Female and Best of Breeds, which exceeded her long needed last comp win. She will be moving to veterans next year, but we can gladly fill in here an there for altered handlers that need numbers.

KDK's Strutting My Daisy Dukes "Daisy Dukes" also had a successful show weekend at the Middle Georgia Kennel Club show in Tifton, GA. She earned 3x Best Female and 3x Best of Breed. Unfortunately, she got not love in the Best in Show ring, so she did not earn her CH. However, she also scored a perfect score on her SPOT test, earning her SPOT-ON title.

GrandAm Rev Em' Up "Revy" had an amazing first show of the year at the Middle Georgia Kennel Club show in Tifton, GA this past weekend. She only was in one show, where she earned Best Female. She also got a perfect score on her SPOT test, earning her SPOT-ON title.

Daisy Dukes also went to the UKC show in Jefferson, GA (Nov 6th-7th) where she was awarded two Altered Best Females and 5th place in the Junior show handled by her first junior handler. This puts her total points with UKC at 90, so only 10 shy of her CH title since she already has her three competition wins against another dog. She will be earning the points needed in 2022, earning her spot as our first CH dog. Unfortunately, after that she will be retiring from conformation. There isn't enough altered dogs in our area for her to earn her GCH title without driving two days to Michigan and other northern states.

She also is 15 points away from earning her CHUJJ in dock jumping, which we will hopefully be achieving in December (pending with holiday plans). If we do not end up going to the event in December, she will then be bumped to earning them in 2022. This will make her our first dual-champion. However, once she earns her CHUJJ, she will also be retiring from dock jumping. We will still be titling her in lower impact sports and titles, but with her turning 9 years old in 2022, we think it's time for her to enjoy other things, such as obedience and trick dog titles.

Revy took home three Best Female placements from the Jefferson, GA UKC show held November 6th-7th. She was beat out for Best of Winners by an amazing male. The male was also beat for Best of Breed by his stunning CH mom. However, for her second show against show lined Border Collies, I can't complain. One day we will find a judge that prefers a good working lined dog, but until then we will just keep moving forward.

First, I would like to welcome everyone to King D's Kennels' page. Our kennel has long needed it since I decided on a name a few years back. I chose the name after my grandfather's prized Appaloosa horse named D's Hands Up, that my dad nicknamed "King D" due to all of his rooms filled with trophies and ribbons. They went to the Appaloosa National Horse Show three times and were featured in a magazine. Their hard work and dedication is what drives me in dog shows and events, so I figured it would be an amazing way to honor both my grandfather and his horse by naming my kennel after them. The drive to work and compete alongside an animal is in my blood, and I hope what my dogs and I achieve throughout the years to come make my grandfather proud.

I would also like to take a chance to thank all of our new followers. Please bare with me while I get our page up-to-date. Thank you!

Revy was donated to us by Grand Ambitions "GrandAm" Border Collies as a service, show, and sport dog prospect. She is off of their Toxin x Pecos litter. While Covid put a damper on her service dog training, we still were able to start her training for trick dog, dock jumping, herding, conformation, and disc. Versatility is matched with amazing temperament. She was my jump into the Border Collie breed from German Shorthaired Pointers, and I have not been disappointed. She was my first, but won't be my last Border Collie. She achieved her TKN (Trick Dog Novice) title at three months old, and we will just be adding to her titles as we go.
