We are a tax exempt animal rescue organization located in Montgomery County, Texas All of our adoptable animals live in volunteer foster homes.

We are a 501c3 non-profit volunteer organization located in Montgomery County, Texas. No one takes a salary so all the money raised or donated can be used for the rescued animals.

Remember the Husky family loving in the woods? Hansel and Gretel have been adopted together! They left this morning to their new home in New York! One of their puppies Rory went with them.

Welcome Moo to ASVT and a better life ahead!

From Moo's foster mom...

Doodles…perhaps the worst “mutt” ever created. People pay thousands for them…don’t research or understand the requirements- especially grooming- and then end up with a shedding (or not), unruly mess. I love them but they aren’t for everyone. Our latest foster just turned 2…yes, we know her bday and these are her Saturday night pics and then today. She was purchased and then left to literally rot. Every hair on her body was matted….even the pony tail blocking her eyes. Mats the size of tennis balls on her paws- and that’s just what we got AFTER the ER vets shaved parts down. After an Achilles tendon injury (presumably someone trying to cut out matted hair), Moo was surrendered for euthanasia. Luckily, staff on duty called rescues and the rest is history. Moo will end up with the happily ever after but….
1) If you are looking for a doodle- check your local rescue. There are tons available in every size and color
2) do your research- not all doodles are hypo allergic. They are active and require ALOT of exercise and attention
3) your groomer will be your new BFF. Get on a regular schedule.

Remember the Husky puppies born in the woods and 4 have been found? Here are their parents! Hansel and Gretel.They were found and taken to the Conroe Animal Shelter. ASVT has assessed them and they are very sweet and adoptable. We would really like to pull them from the shelter but WE NEED FOSTERS! 12 Days of Thankfulness Day 2 As 2025 approaches we set new goals, and can’t help but reflect on 2024. Rescue is not easy, and it truly takes a village. Without the support of our Fosters, Volunteers and Donors, we would not be able to help with community outreach spay and neuter, medical care for fosters and several recent significant orthopedic surgeries…so we THANK YOU!! But that being said, there are a few people that have been critical in achieving these goals and have worked tirelessly "behind the scenes". Transports JIM MURRAY A critical component to helping place so many community puppies has been the ability to transport to out of state shelters with 100% adoption rates….our dogs avg time there is less than 2.5 days! Jim has been a Volunteer and Foster for some years now. He has in recent years taken the task of driving our transpoet dogs to our partner in Siouxland, Iowa! Jim this precious cargo would miss out if not for your generous time to transport. God speed on your next trip on January 6.
