📢 Important FIV Vaccination Information 🐾

Considering vaccinating your cat against FIV? Here’s what you need to know:

Vaccination against FIV should only be done when bringing an FIV-positive cat into your home. The FIV test cannot distinguish between the vaccine and the actual disease, which can be problematic. If your vaccinated cat ends up in a shelter, most places screen for FIV and might euthanize FIV-positive cats.

Always consult your veterinarian to make the best decision for your feline friend.

Following last week's exciting post about FIV research, here is the information sheet on the new drug being used to slow the progression of FIV. This breakthrough offers hope for better management of the virus in our feline friends.
