All I know professionally is training dogs. I've been doing it since I was 19 years old.

For those of you that don't know me, I started training Military Working Dogs in the Army.

I'm forever grateful for the life lessons dogs have taught me and continue to teach me.

This video shows the care and passion I have for my craft. (I'm not alone in this passion, all WODT owners share the same passion which is part of what makes this culture different).

Separation anxiety part 3 continued...

Wow Kim Prapavat and Mick crushed it in this video, so proud of board and train Mick who has level 10 separation anxiety.

Where most people fail is they go from step one to step seven.

That's always going to be setting the dog up to fail. That means no opportunity to praise/reward the dog thus no learning is taking place.

Be sure with each protocol you do it in a SIMPLE TO COMPLEX approach and do not forget to break it down so the doggo wins.

Separation anxiety protocol continued...

As you can see when you apply LES you will see results.

-Leadership
-Energy (calm)
-System (WODT 3D learning)

Notice how calm Kim Prapavat (owner of WODT South Bay LA/LBC) is with Mick. The difference between good and great is in the details. Kim is relaxed and even has her legs and hips loose showing the dog that he too can relax.

Remember dog training starts with us as their human to show them the way!

11/04/2023

It's time we ask more of ourselves and our dogs.

Stop settling for it's good enough. Not only is teaching your dog new skills fun. It creates a stronger bond and you'll be amazed at how much more calm your dog is.

Give your dog the gift of freedom by ensuring you have a reliable recall on/off leash both with and without distractions.

There is nothing more majestic than watching a dog run at full speed, with a huge smile and totally care free.

Life is too short to struggle with your dog!

Alex Mena owner and head trainer of WODT South OC dropping knowledge bombs.

This lesson is important for dog owners to remember and is an example of true leadership.

Dogs feel much calmer, confident and happy when their human steps up and takes the leadership role.

This is especially true when it comes to instances when a dog is fearful. By helping a dog to work through the fear in a slow, systematic and simple to complex approach you'll get the chills seeing your dog grow and become more confident.

Remember the only way through the uncomfortable things in life is to go through it, NOT AVOID IT!

04/04/2023

Honor the primal animal in front of you.

We tend to give mostly love to our dogs which is great but it's not enough.

They also need...

Leadership

Balanced & Confident Energy

Sticking to a System (of training that works)

Yes!!! Sometimes part of being a dog trainer is speaking to clients with what they need to hear for the highest good of their dog.

Here's a sneak peak into a lesson for a leash reactive dog.

Ryan was the 4th or 5th trainer the client came to so the details really matter to get lasting results.

03/04/2023

One of my (Ryan's) greatest joys in working with dogs over the past 20 years is meeting and training this amazing woman, Alex Mena.

Alex is the owner and head trainer at WODT South Orange County.

She believed in my faith in her when I shared about the potential I saw in her the first time I met her and her partner and said "wow Alex you actually have the "IT" and could be a trainer".

She's absolutely crushing it! So proud of Alex for taking that leap of faith into business ownership and a career she loves.

Thanks for the opportunity to show you what's possible Alex. You're a huge gift to your community, dogs and your WODT familia.

Does your dog's name reflect your dog's personality?

The power of intention is relevant in all aspects of our lives to include our dogs.

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the name you gave your dog and the expectations you have of him/her actually worked against you?

It's almost like some of us have set our dogs up to fail with who we expect them to be or the title/name/personality we give them.

Remember with the right training system that is used with consistency we can train most any dog. Either turning good dogs into great dogs or naughty dogs into being more of a dream dog!

$100s $100s $100s....

Coming to a town near you!

I'm hitting the streets and offering $100 to anyone who has a dog that I can't train in 10 minutes or less.

Stay tuned to see if I could fix some of the recent dogs who looked like professional sled dog pullers and their frustrated owners.

If you think you have an untrainable dog be sure to share a video of your dogs craziness and who knows maybe you'll be selected for the $100 Dog Training Challenge.

If your dog is nervous and scared, what should you do?

Well... If I was a betting man I'd drop some green that many of you would pick the dog or at least pet it to reassure it.

If that's you, you must watch this video.

Your dog will thank you!

New or aspiring dog trainers....

Listen to this advice from Alex Mena from WODT South OC.

Alex has crushed every business goal she has set for herself so take notes.

One of the reasons is investing in further education is it allows you to see different perspectives, after all there's more than one way to train a dog.

There is a reason why most people of influence have multiple coaches and guides to help them go from where they are to where they want to be.

18/03/2023

Training a working dog versus a lap dog are much different.

It's important we use the reward the dog wants the the reward we think our dogs want.

Alex Mena owner of WODT South OC is sharing some knowledge bombs that you should take note.

Using a toy as a reward is great but only for dogs that value it over food and you must keep training sessions short to keep the energy up.

Aspiring dog trainers finally here's the opportunity you've been waiting for.

I've taken the best of what's out there and compiled my 20 years in the canine industry and put it into a dog training Biz in a Box.

It's a plug and play system for those that want to become a dog trainer and part of a movement that is reducing euthanasia one trained dog at a time.

BTW we aren't minimum wage dog trainers, you'd be amazed at the lifestyle you can have and the money you can earn.

Dog owners come in all walks of life.

Having a dog is something that unites the masses. We come together in experiencing the joy, unconditional dog love, funny mannerisms, SBD dog farts, all the things.

As dog trainers we are grateful for all the people that trust us to coach them. Whether you're a first time dog owner or have owned dogs your whole life we have 3-D Learning System that we want to share with you.

Athletes that want a given result hire trainers and coaches to take them to the next level. If you're struggling with your doggo, hiring a dog trainer is no different and it helps you get to the good stuff real quick.

If you're in South Bay LA/ LBC WODT owner Kim Prapavat is ready to be your guide, after all life is too short to struggle with your dog.

Do you have a fearful, aggressive or reactive dog?

If so watch this video.

When working with these type of doggos space is your friend. Meaning give yourself plenty of space away from the trigger to help keep your dog below a reactive threshold.

Also, remember energy runs down leash so your dog can feel and sense when you tense up so keep it pawsitive and do your best to remain calm.

They say if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life.

It's been amazing having Jordan Lee, owner of WODT Northwest Arkansas join the family.

He brings huge passion, drive, care and desire to perfect his craft.

When Jordan isn't training clients in NW Arkansas, he spends his free time doing what he loves, training more dogs! Jordan belongs to a PSA club and loves the thrill of protection training and the drive of the athletic working dogs.

Be like Jordan Lee and do what drives you.

Do the thing you think about when you first wake up and before you go to sleep.

Don't just get by in life. Do the thing you love so you don't have to work another day in your life.

Don't be afraid to rep your colors and your mission as long as you're coming from a place of wanting to make a pawsitive impact, help others and share your gifts.

For years I hid from society and I let the haters dim my light. Not anymore. As the homie Turk Akbay loves to hear me say.....

The best part of it all is, I'm just getting started.

Honor your animal...

Often, people have an agenda as in "I'm going to walk my dog". Exercise is great and necessary. At the same time we want to think about what is the energy, mindset and behavior of our dog in each situation and environment.

This tip is a perfect example of how to consider your dogs needs in any given moment and how to be a problem solver for your dog.

After all, our dogs rely on us to be their guide and lead them to their best life.

10/02/2023

"I care so much I don't care."

What comes to mind when you read that (drop it in the comments)?

To me it means being willing to guide and coach people for the higher good. Meaning say the sh people are avoiding and may not want to hear, as long as it is in the client and dog's best interest.

As a dog trainer, people pay us to guide them and find the answers to their problems. Often, the problem is the thing the pet owner is avoiding.

Remember to do what's best for the dog, the owner and yourself by sometimes saying the thing that the client doesn't want to hear but needs to hear.

Dog trainers it's not just about what you can do with a dog.

In fact, it's expected you can shift behaviors in a dog.

What the public needs our help with is us shifting our presence, leadership and confidence to the pet owner embodying the same so they can have lasting results.

30/01/2023

If you own a doggie day care or vet clinic, finally you can have your own in-house dog trainer that we train for you.

That means you'll be able to:
- Be a one stop shop for existing clients
- No longer send out dog training referrals to trainers you don't truly know
- Earn additional revenue from current clients
- No marketing is necessary by leveraging your database
- Have a larger pawsitive impact by helping more dogs

DM Dog Biz to find out how in just 60 days we can help you add your own in-house dog trainer at your clinic or doggie day care.
