He also midly in love with me, but we had a talk about how I’m not his species so it wouldn’t work out, I think he took it well.

We’re trying all the avenues to help Sig!

This handsome Bernese mountain dog is terrified of water.
Today (at his 3rd desensitizing appointment) he brought his brother, Jack, along!

Jack spent his entire appointment winking at me, but I’m not going to call HR ♥️

Sig got to see his brother be so brave for all the grooming services today!

🤞🏻 this helps us make some strides for Sig next time

And yes, they’re holding hands. 🐾

Gunner came for his first groom ever today!!

What you should expect for a first groom:
1. They’re safe

And literally nothing else.

A dog’s reaction to grooming can range from completely unbothered to full on panic.

Luckily, Gunner (like most) was somewhere in the middle.

He was able to be bathed(though we both got soaked).
He is *mostly* dry.
His nails are done, most of his paw hair is trimmed, and his Sanitary area is clean and trimmed.
For a first groom- thats one heck of a win

I will never hold a dog down to blow dry them(or for any reason) and I do not use kennels/cage dryers.
I will not torture a dog for vanity’s sake and air drying Is completely safe as long as all soap has been thoroughly removed.

Because of this, occasionally, dogs leave a little damp, and that is discussed before the appointment and always ok’d with the owners.

Grooming often is something dogs need gradually introduced to. It can be scary, there are a lot of new noises and sensations, they have no idea where they are, mom/dad left, and they have no idea who I am.

Keep in mind we do offer meet and treat appointments (where they can meet me, tour the shop, have some treats, and head home with a tennis ball) and desensitizing visits as well.

This applies to all the mixes: Godlendoodles, labradoodles, bernedoodles, aussiedoodles, etc.

This decision may be temporary, and we hope to reassess in the future. However, for now, it is necessary to ensure we're providing the best care for all of our pups.
