The definition of a gentle giant.

Meet Opie, the two year old Newfoundland.

This is Opie’s second time here and somehow I love him even more than before.

Today Opie had a b***y demat(very common on these big breeds), 4 bottles of shampoo, 2 bottles of conditioner, and over an hour to blow dry, and this handsome man stood like a statue for every bit of it.

He only moved to give me kisses or reposition his feet.

Opie is a 10/10 good boy and has the BEST hair. 🖤🥹

Though we appreciate all the glowing reviews we have on Facebook, not everyone who comes to us has Facebook to access these testimonials.

Duska Rishel said at Monday's meeting that she had the idea for years, but it took a long time to create her idea of having a recreational pool for dogs. Now in its 3rd year, the Soggie Doggie caters to these four-legged friends with a heated indoor facility, as well as an outdoor facility with a fence. It’s located on their once 100-acre dairy farm, approximately 2.8 miles from Watsontown on Vincent Ave.

The 12 x 27 pool that is heated, along with the 15 x 20 deck and a water rinse station comprise the 30 x 36 indoor facility and allows for the dogs to get recreation all year long.

Duska said there are people who come to this facility as far away as 2.5 to 3 hours away, as there really are no other facilities nearby.
Some of the benefits are for older dogs to stay mobile as the age (just like us humans!), weight loss by exercise, gaining confidence, and post-surgery regeneration.

“Not all dogs can swim,” declared Duska who said some need to be taught and are afraid of the water at first. She holds many different classes.

The hours are from 8 am to around 7 pm, Monday through Saturday, and each person who signs up has that time frame to themselves – there are no other dogs or people allowed. The fee is per visit or Duska offers packages.

Ok, she doesn’t like any part of the groom- but we get through it and she’s never mad at me.
