“Scores are in and the exhibitors have done a wonderful job. I want to express what a pleasure and honor it has been to be able to participate in the judging of the Show Up N Show Out Online Ranch Series. The quality of the videos, horses and showmanship was spectacular.
With that being said I would like to offer my feedback in hopes that it will help for future shows.
1. With regard to a virtual show it is very important to enter an exceptional video. The matter of how the video is viewed is important-horizontal provides the best angle. Also pay attention to the time of day you’re filming and the position of the sun. A glare from sunlight can highly impact your video and your audiences view.
2. Study the pattern. The great advantage of filming is you can repeat your run if there is a mistake made. Submit the best one!
3. Both the horse and rider should be soft. Allow your body to do the work. Meaning less on the reins when asking your horse for a transition. This prevents breaks of gait, pulling and harsh transitions.
Once again I hope this feedback provides some insight as to what we are looking at when judging a virtual show. It has been such an honor and I truly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication the exhibitors have shown in this series!”
