🐜 Please be diligent with your flea/tick protocols and/or check your dogs throughly after the walk - the ticks are still out!

💦 Bring water, extra water and then some more water!

👟 wear weather appropriate clothing and footwear, sometimes unexpected conditions can wet/muddy, rocky and buggy

🚫 NO retractable or long leashes. These are structured walks that allow everyone to have space and feel comfortable. Colored Bandanas will be given out for any dogs who need space from humans/dogs - please let me know ahead if you dog needs a bandana

🐕 All friends are welcome, you do not need to be a client of 4 Paws Adrift to join, but you must sign up for attendance purposes

💵 These walks are FREE, but we do accept donations for our neighbors at Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary. I will collect at the end of each walk for those who would like to donate

Meet Snacx! Snacx came in for an evaluation to work on some hind leg strengthening in the underwater treadmill. He has luxating patella’s but his vet and owners are hopeful that water therapy can help strengthen the muscles around the knee and he can avoid surgery! We got him started on a fitness plan and he will be coming weekly for hydrotherapy so stay tuned for Snacx updates! 🖤🖤🖤

Zoe is ready for the chilly season with her new bathrobe for post hydrotherapy! ❤️🖤❤️ This robe is awesome, it’s microfiber so it soaks up the water so quickly without soaking the material and it also keeps them warm AND also looks adorable 🥰 Do you have your dog’s winter robe yet?!Check out our recommendations page on our website for our favorite ones!

Every week we feature a client in our newsletter. This week we are celebrating Harley! Gorgeous Harley celebrated her 14th birthday right before her 11 week check in for measurements and pictures. We are so thrilled with the results! As you can see from her Week 1 picture, Harley came to us in June with a severely weak hind end. Her parents stayed positive and were cautiously optimistic so they committed to weekly sessions. At our 11 week check in, the pictures told us everything we needed to know. We have seen little positive changes each week. Harley is able to stand up taller, walk better and even treadmill with lower water. We are sooooo proud of Harley for her hard work! We are happy to help give her a little more support so she can get around more comfortably. Great work Harley and Parents!

Happy Fitness Friday! 💪🏼 Bear is a 7 year old red fox Labrador who came to us barely putting weight on his left hind leg. His doctors recommended hydrotherapy as it was concluded that he suffering from sciatic neuropathy. Bear has been coming for hydrotherapy religiously and his parents doing at home exercises as well for about 5 months. He started in February with two times per week for about 8 weeks and then we bumped him down to once per week for the next 10 weeks leading up to this week when his new pictures were taken. Not only has Bear lost a significant amount of weight, added bonus!!!, centimeters off his waist, and gained muscle in both hind legs, but he now also putting the leg down and bearing weight again! You can even see in his body language that he is feeling good and proud of himself! Bear has worked hard, and he has earned his way to a nice fun lake home vacation with his family where he can now run, swim and play freely. We are so proud of you Bear, keep up the good work!

Welcome to hydrotherapy Taz! Taz is recovering from TPLO Surgery. For those that don’t know, that is one of a few options when a dog tears their CCL in their knee (equivalent to the human ACL). Taz is in great shape, and lives a very active lifestyle but has lost a lot of muscle due to exercise restrictions and compensation during the injury and after surgery. He has a backpacking trip planned in the Fall so we are set on getting him back into tip top shape so he can enjoy his future adventures! His first session went seamless, and we are looking forward to watching Taz progress over the new next weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on this big smiley boy!
