Moose is not only one of our newest patients, he's also one of the newest additions to the Monmouth County Sheriff's Office! 🚓🚨 Moose spends his days being absolutely adorable and learning the ropes of his new job. We've heard he has some big paws to fill but we're sure he'll be up to the task! 😉🐾

Happy Thanksgiving! This year, we're thankful for you! 🦃🧡

We hope you have a happy and safe holiday with those you're most thankful for! Thanksgiving brings fun with family & friends, but unfortunately can also have many hazards for our furry friends. To help keep them safe today, keep these tips in mind:

🍂 Beware of counter surfers & food bandits - fatty foods, such as dark meat & turkey skin can cause pancreatitis. Other dangerous foods include garlic, onions/chives, raisins, grapes, unbaked yeast dough, corn cobs, chocolate and an artificial sweetener called xylitol.

🍂 Keep garbage cans/bags secure. Bones and scraps may smell enticing to pets - or seem like a good snack to keep them busy - but actually pose a hazard if ingested.

🍂 If you're hosting, keep an eye on your pet as guests come and go. Ensure your pet has a secure collar/ID tag and/or microchip with your current contact information.

🍂 Holiday decor such as candles, decorative corn cobs, garlands, etc., can result in accidental burns, choking and/or blockages - just to name a few.

If you believe your pet may have ingested something toxic, do not hesitate to bring them to your closest animal ER (such as Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, Garden State Veterinary Specialists or NorthStar VETS) and/or contact a poison control hotline such as:
