The Short Story Behind Birb Kingdom.
It all started with a bird, more accurately, a orange-chinned parakeet (Brotogeris jugularis).
My girlfriend and I started dating a few years back, and she got me into birbs as pets, because she’s a little crazy about them. Now, I am too.
I was a dog person, and even had cats before, but never a bird. It wasn’t until I met her that I really got into them.
She introduced me to her tiny parakeet, Toto (she worships the Wizard of Oz). You see, this bird was a little wary of me, keeping its distance, analyzing my intentions maybe. This went on for several days, until I guess he felt comfortable enough with me around. A few days later, whenever my girlfriend and I started hanging out with him, he’d climb my head.
