Hi all, there is more than just one Cody Roberts in Wyoming; let's be better than the man who tortured the wolf. No death threats, please!!!

Cody Roberts of Daniel, Wyoming is at the center of outrage over allegations he tortured a wolf. Now other Wyoming men with the name have been getting threats from all over the world.

I want to thank the New York Post for picking up this story. To be clear, Cody didn't accidentally run over the wolf with a snowmobile. He did it intentionally. You can be one of those people who does not like wolves, but you cannot support this sociopathic behavior that has been going on for a very long time to wolves in the Northern Rockies.

A Wyoming man has sparked outrage after he allegedly captured a wolf, taped its mouth shut and tormented it by parading it in a bar before finally killing it.

This is the atmosphere. This is the culture. This is the disturbing level of social acceptance and apathy that exists towards the fear, disdain, and hatred of wolves.

By Dave Stalling The recent chasing, crippling, capturing, tormenting, torturing and killing of a wolf in Wyoming is the latest, perhaps most brutal, symptom of the disdain and irrational hatred many people have towards wolves. According to news reports, on February 29, a man named Cody Roberts, of....

Warning, this article is extremely difficult to read.
Since 2018, I have been talking about how wildlife commissions, by not stopping these violent acts against our wildlife, are not only allowing these atrocities against wolves by the most depraved to continue but are silently encouraging it by doing nothing. This POS tortured this wolf for hours. If it were a dog, people would be demanding justice. Additionally, this blood lust, the need to torture a living being, doesn't end with animals. Wyoming Game and Fish Department, this is on your watch. Is this truly wildlife "management"? Is this the type of mentality and behavior you want to stay silent on?

"...These photos show that despite so many obstacles, jaguars continue to reestablish territory in the United States,” said Russ McSpadden, a conservation advocate at the Center for Biological Diversity. “This is a wonderful reminder that these big cats move great distances across the landscape. It drives home the importance of protecting connected habitat for these elusive, beautiful felines..."

U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), a nonpartisan government watchdog agency, issued a new report detailing the damage that former President Trump’s border wall wrought on the country’s natural and cultural resources.

According to the report, Trump’s border wall and border wall construction have:
- destroyed Indigenous sacred sites and burial grounds, like Monument Hill;
- zapped preciously scarce Western water resources in some areas and caused damming and flooding in others;
permanently altered wildlife migration patterns and put endangered species, like the ocelot, at even greater risk of extinction;
- decimated native plants, including untold numbers of the iconic saguaro cacti, while also recklessly spreading invasive species; and causing dangerously severe erosion.

It could be harder to prove Mexican gray wolf attacks on livestock after a federal agency updated its standards to ensure the endangered species is not unfairly blamed and killed by ranchers.

The new rules were intended to prevent unfair blame and killing of Mexican gray wolves for perceived livestock attacks.

McGee says intentional poisonings and shootings have degraded the wolf population in Mexico, and the agency doesn't have the authority to mandate regulations in another country. He says Fish and Wildlife Service was tracking some Mexico-based wolves with radio collars, but the batteries in the devices have since died.

In a letter sent to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a group of conservationists say the effort to build up the population of Mexican gray wolves south of the border isn’t going well.

NEWS RELEASE from Western Watersheds Project
>>>“Our goal has been to make sure that Mexican gray wolves aren’t being unfairly blamed for livestock depredation,” said Greta Anderson, deputy director of Western Watersheds Project. “The over-reported incidence of wolf involvement in cattle deaths in the southwest has had negative impacts on the wolf recovery program, including the killing and capture of wild wolves. We’re hoping the new standards help prevent that from happening again.”

Lobos of the Southwest is thrilled to announce the creation of a short film, Almost Ancestors, to illustrate the parallel paths of displacement experienced by Mexican gray wolves (lobos) and indigenous peoples. Award-winning filmmaker Brišind (The Doctrine of Recovery) created and directed the film. The website is now live, and read about the cast, our goals, and how you can help. www.AlmostAncestors.com

Thank you, Western Watersheds Project for spearheading this initiative!

“We support Mexican gray wolf recovery in Mexico and hope the U.S. will do all it can to bring back the lobo across the border,” said Greta Anderson, deputy director of Western Watersheds Project. “However, it’s painfully clear that the Service’s reliance on a second, stable population of wolves outside of the U.S. southwest is misplaced. The agency needs to immediately begin building additional populations in the U.S. to ensure against the second wild extinction of this species.”

Fourteen conservation groups and individuals sent a letter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (“Service”) today warning about the severely low numbers of Mexican gray wolves in Mexico, which the agency relies on as a secondary population to buttress against extinction in the United States. Re...

Whilst the op-ed is in regards to Montana wolves specifically, this rings true for all states:
"It’s time to reform wildlife management so all people have a say and all species are protected, including wolves.".
You can get involved by attending Arizona Game and Fish Department meetings and voicing your support for Arizona wildlife during the open comment period offered at every meeting, especially in support of Arizona's much-maligned carnivores.

Ironically, while accusing others of not understanding science regarding predator management, Chris Morgan of the Montana Trapper’s Association reveals his ignorance of wildlife and science.

Our neighboring state has some great news!

Gray wolves used to roam most of North America before being hunted, trapped and driven out of most of the continental U.S. by the early 1900s. They are native to California.
