Beans is a stickler for oral hygiene health. He is proud of his pristine pearly whites and would like to remind everyone that we are trying to rally to give Ruffles a little “padding” for about a month and a half along with paying current medical care and vet accounts.

Charlie is doing well. Despite still looking incredibly thin, he has gained four pounds. Charlie weighed 38 pounds upon intake, and today, he is 42 - just about 43 pounds. He’s the sweetest little gremlin, who makes the sweetest little snorts. He is on a high dose of antibiotics and being monitored closely. We are hoping we can turn this sweet boy around.
Today, we would like to post Pay it Forward Monday, to help us afford Charlie’s vet care but to also get our vet account down. We are doing our best to prepare for me being down a while, while Ruffles gains a little bald puppy. I am currently 35 weeks pregnant and it’s coming soon. Please share and please help if you are able. We love you to the moon!

Everyone meet Charlie. Last week, before deciding to halt intake, the sweet finder of Petey reached out to us about this poor pup who was found during their morning walk. He is extremely malnourished, has an open wound in his mouth; and just in deplorable condition. Charlie was taken to our vets; where he is having a little stay where they can determine what his going on. His blood work is not horrible, however, they do think his mouth has a growth. He’ll need to be sedated to have a deeper look. He’s also being given high quality foods; to see how his blood work improves. As of right now, we are not sure if he is a hospice case; or even how old he is. We believe he is older - however; due to his condition, it’s hard to get a gauge on his age.
Please share our adorable Charlie and if you can; please help if you are able. We just couldn’t let this guy end up in a shelter. He’d have no fighting chance.

Supporters; please stay and read this message. 🖤🥹

Due to all current events happening in life, I am not sure how much longer Ruffles will be able to keep our doors open and keep saving the medically and behavioral needy dogs that we save. The last few months I have been in a complete panic of how I am going to financially afford to live; let alone fund and continue the rescue. As everyone knows, I’m eight months pregnant. And I would never stop or give up because of our little bald puppy on the way; however, I work to be able to fund the rescue when donations are slow or when we rescue sever medical cases that require extensive medical care and donations are not enough to cover the expenses. The world is a burning dumpster fire and most families cannot even afford food; let alone to donate to a rescue in need. Preparing to take time off work and keep a roof over our heads and the dogs taken care of; to the standard that we have always set; I’m not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I do not qualify for FMLA and state family leave is a nearly 60-70% of my income. I have tried to see about taking a hardship loan out of my 401K to keep things as normal as possible; however, I do not meet the guidelines for that. I have looked into loans to float us; however that does not look like an option.

Last week, I was able to pay $1,200 onto our vet account - however, with the ongoing expenses, low donations; we paid $300 from ruffles and the $900 was personally from me; and our account is still in the thousands. If we cannot gain a little nest egg to float the rescue for two or so months - we will need to either temporary close or; close our doors forever and that would crush my soul; as saving dogs is utterly my goal in life.

Today, we lost a small income revenue for the rescue with Tik-Tok closing. We would make about $50-$100 a month from them; even though it was a small combination of rescue life and my personal life. The funds went straight to Ruffles. We truly do not know what to do - to keep this dream open and going.

I will continue to look and dig deep to see what I can personally do. This is utterly the hardest thing to actually put into words and announce to our supporters.

Forever grateful for the love and support over these nearly 14 years. We have changed the life of so many dogs and I and forever grateful. 🖤

We know times are tough and everyone is just barely getting by. This huge opportunity feels so unattainable. We have raised two hundred and fifty dollars thus far. If all of our followers and supporters shared out post; and if you were able to donate just fifty cents; we would close this goal four times over.
This is our thirteenth-year rescuing and we want nothing more than to keep our doors open and to keep saving the medical and behavioral needy dogs of California. But with no resources; we are not able to keep going.
Please share and please help if you are able. We are forever grateful for being here and rescuing pups for thirteen years; and we want to be around thirteen more.

But I am not a website designer; so so far, the progress you see is of several weeks of work. . I have changed this boys name more times than I can count. Things just didn’t sound or fit right. But, he’s a Charlie. He’s tall. He’s goofy. He’s pure dodobird. He’s Charlie. And we love him.

Nova would like to use this weekend to raise money for Browzers vetting. We have raised $1,400 of the nearly $4,000 emergency vetting. Today, we also got an estimate for Lena, Abby’s sister who we welcomed in when we took Abby back after the tragic passing of their momma. Today the girls got vaccine updates, Abby needed medicated cream for her nose; and we found out Lena needed dental work. Lena has a cracked tooth, will need a dental and tooth extraction. Today’s vetting was sponsored by their Mommas sister and we would like to cover the $1,800 dental. We would like to get her vetting done sooner than later but with Browzer has utilized all of our reserve funds. 🖤
