October 30th is right around the corner!

Only 5 more days before this course launches!

Teach your dog a useful skill and learn one for yourself!

Enroll in a comprehensive training program for less than it costs for a group class, way less than hiring a trainer, and teaches a valuable skill that you will use practically every day.

The Trained Retrieve is the benchmark for which a trainer's skills are measured. If you are a professional trainer, and you don't offer it, you should, and if you'd like to learn how, this is a great way to start!

Learn something valuable and transferrable!

Our fall Novice class is starting on November 13th also. If you are interested in registering for both, that option is available at additional savings.

Don't wait, spots are limited!

Sign-up information is in the comments!

Positive news on finding the genetic marker for cataracts in cocker spaniels.

If you have an affected cocker, you can HELP with this project.

There are some concrete results for the detection of a marker for early onset cataracts. The research team is using a new approach and sequencing facility and they have narrowed down the variants to 10’s vs. hundreds just a year ago. They are beginning to talk about possibly determining a marker w...

Stanley is our 🌟 of the week! 🥰 This cutie pie is on the hunt for a forever home. Please check out his updated bio below!

Cuteness Overload! Meet Stanley, a strikingly handsome 2-year-old, 27 lb black and tan cocker spaniel who is looking for a very ACTIVE family with a fenced-in yard. He is a precious boy who is still all puppy and just wants to be loved! His favorite pastime is doing zoomies all around the yard, lanai and in his foster home until he crashes for a nap or stops for a treat. He also still has some of that puppy tendency to chew BUT the good news is that he is as smart as he is irresistible and can be redirected and easily trained.

We are looking for an experienced adopter who will give him the proper training infused with love and boundaries. In return we are confident that Stanley will become a well-mannered little boy who will bring joy to his human and be loved to the moon and back. This little guy loves hearing his name and getting praise and now seeks out his foster Mom for pets. He gets along great with other dogs and we believe he would benefit from having a doggie sibling. We have not observed him with cats or kids. If you would like to be Stanley’s human, please complete an application through our website, www.floridacockerrescue.org. His adoption fee is $325.00.

NOTES: **AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONLY IN FLORIDA AND SURROUNDING AREA. **ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED. **WE DO NOT ARRANGE MEET AND GREETS WITHOUT AN APPROVED APPLICATION.

Launching – ASC Foundation Cocker Spaniel Health Survey

I am pleased to announce that the Foundation is inaugurating an online Health Survey on Cocker Spaniels. The survey intends to identify issues that may be experienced by our Cocker companions. A general list of Canine health issues was used to construct this survey, not necessarily those unique or common to Cockers. Understanding Cocker health issues will allow the Foundation to focus research and other efforts to improve the health of our Cockers. In addition, this information will be compared with the results of similar efforts by the parent breed clubs of the other Flushing Spaniels.
The online survey will be confidential. A link to the survey has been sent out to all ASC members and is listed below.

After using the link below you will be asked to complete your name and address. Your responses will not be linked to your contact information in the database created from the responses. To ensure confidentiality, the Owners information will only be used if follow-up information is needed or if multiple submissions from a single individual are received. Only the individual compiling the data (Tony Stallard) will have temporary access to the owner's information. The owner's information will not be maintained once it is determined that no additional information is needed.

The survey results will be available for review on the ASC Foundation webpage after the survey. You will be notified of their availability. This survey intends to look back on Cockers over the last 20 years. It is recognized that this will be easier for some and more difficult for our long-term cocker breeders. Please do your best to accurately indicate the total number of cockers owned and the numbers diagnosed or afflicted by any of the conditions provided. There is a comments section for each affliction if you want to add any further information. In addition, space is provided at the end of the survey to list any conditions or issues that were not specifically addressed in the survey.

Thank you for your participation. If you have any questions, please contact the ASCF Health Survey at Health survey.ASCF..com

Contact Abandoned Angels for info. Jenny is fostered in Northampton, PA and is spayed and UTD on all vaccines.

Jenny is a beautiful petite four-year-old female Cocker Spaniel looking for her forever home.

Jenny’s foster mom says she’s a wonderful houseguest, she is crate trained and housebroken. Her favorite time of day is the evening when she gets to cuddle with mom on the couch and can be found at night sleeping against her leg or curled up next to her so she can get petted and give small kisses. She waits politely for her food during meal time and gets along with her foster brothers.

We know that Jenny was bred a few times and while very good with cats and kittens she isn’t a fan of puppies. She seems to have a preference for male dog companions but with humans she’s been wonderful with everyone. A bit shy at first, once she comes out of her shell she becomes her persons shadow. She doesn’t walk very well on a leash but will follow if she’s on a harness. She definitely prefers being let out in the fenced in yard but she doesn’t spend much time out. She just goes potty and comes right back in unless her fostermom is outside gardening.

Jenny would do best in a home with another adult dog (or cat) or by herself. She has a sweet temperament and very much enjoys toys like stuffed animals and fabric frisbees she can carry around.

If you are interested in adopting Jenny, please complete our online application at nyabandonedangels.com. Jenny is fostered in Northampton, PA and is spayed and UTD on all vaccines.
