🚨 DEAR CLIENTS 🚨

I have a few important announcements and dates to run by everyone

1. Our team member Abigail is returning to college on Sunday so tomorrow, 8/23, is her last day with us (for now 😜). For those of you that had her as your sitter you know how great she is and will be missed but we are wishing her a safe and successful return to school.

2. I will be unavailable for services Tuesday 8/27 due to attending out of state funeral services for a family member.

3. I will be out of state again starting Thursday 8/29 through Tuesday 9/3 for vacation.

I appreciate everyone’s understanding and will be sure to finalize any scheduling conflicts or pending requests before I leave. In the event of any emergency please contact your sitter directly.

Dear Clients

It’s crazy to think summer is half way done 🤯 it’s been a busy one for sure! I’m just returning from time away and will be back to normal business hours tomorrow, Monday July 29th. With that being said I will be getting back to each and every one of you regarding your matters. I appreciate everyone’s patience and look forward to talking soon!

I think it goes without saying that it’s hot outside 🥵

I’m not here to lecture pet parents on what to do and what not to do in this weather but be smart and considerate when it comes to you and your pets in this weather. Pay attention to not only the air temperature but the ground temperatures when thinking about walking your pups. I made sure our walks were done by 11am and the ones that did take place were done in shady area’s, I had water on me, and walks just simply were shortened. If you have a very active pup like I do I spend days like today doing exercises inside, nose work, teach them something new, or simply play some tug of war. If your pup does still require a working walk I recommend doing it earlier than normal or later in the evening when temps become more safe. If you ever have any questions about our altering services due to weather don’t hesitate to ask!

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

With temperatures expected to get into the high 80’s over the next few days please remember the impact this can have on animals in vehicles. Temperatures in vehicles rise very quickly which can lead to heatstroke and even death of an animal. Never leave your animal unattended in a hot vehicle and always make sure they are properly hydrated.
