Make sure your pets are up to date on their vaccines!
Good morning H@H family!
As you may have seen, we made a detailed post back on October 30th (it’s pinned on our page) about the rise in Rabies cases within the past few months. Unfortunately, there continue to be new cases almost weekly adding at least 4 to the growing total.
As of November 16th, Harford County has had 20+, Baltimore County has had 15+, and Cecil County has had 4+ confirmed cases. Within the entire state of Maryland, there have been 203+ confirmed cases*. The majority of the cases are raccoons 🦝 which are high in population in our area.
Again, PLEASE make sure your pets are up-to-date on their vaccines. If you or your pet have come into contact with a wild animal, please contact your county’s health department as soon as possible. You can check out our previous post for contact details and other important information. You can reference this chart for more information - we hope it is updated frequently to reflect accurate numbers. The Cecil County number is inaccurate at this time.https://health.maryland.gov/phpa/OIDEOR/CZVBD/Shared%20Documents/Laboratory%20Confirmed_jurisdiction_species_2024.pdf
Stay safe everyone!!🐾
H@H💜💙
*The “+” were added to the numbers as they are changing so quickly.
