Dogs don’t need fancy training. Humans don’t need to learn special ways of training like using treats, ecollars or punishment style training. Maya only had positive only treat based training her whole 7 years of life and she never understood that her behaviors were not necessary. The reason her behaviors never got better is because they never made sense to her. This isn’t the owners fault because you want to trust the “professional” that your hired. I’m so glad that Mayas owners found me on a local mom dog fb page. These are messages from the day of and the day after our appointment. My training isn’t magic, down would day it is but it’s literally just clear communication. Training is about doing it together as a whole. You can’t punish a dog or reward a dog for unwanted behaviors. You must teach them better behaviors instead. If you’re interested in learning more, please reach out. 🫶🫶

I adopted Puppy when she was 10 years old from the rescue that brought her to me to rehab. I ended up adopting her because I knew I was the only person she could live a normal dog life with. She was never able to live a regular life around other dogs. She would fight in all the homes she was in. She lived most her life in a kennel and being out some of the day when her first owners had her. Her humans had failed her, not only once but twice. 😭When I first got her for rehab I wondered what her problem was because I didn’t see any. Once a dog steps onto my property they are not allowed to try and contol me or my other dogs. This was something Puppy never received and it was the relief that she didn’t need to be in charge. She was so confident in my leadership. Puppy never had any incidents with any of my dogs because she never controlled any dynamics. She lived in peace with my pack for 2 years before I had to put her down. She had a tumor next to her heart and she was going fast. She was literally the best dog. I trusted her with all the dogs I would rehab and trusted her with my own. I miss her and think about her often. It’s been 2 years since she passed and I will always remember her.

I occasionally work with puppies and I’m so glad I helped Patos family. Pato is 4 months old and he was already displayed a number of behavioral issues. I was able to get their routine and training on point. They had a great routine but there were a few things missing. Pato has a sweet and caring family and I know they are going to follow through with what I taught them!

Waffle and his Mom met me for training a few years back. Mom was single and they lived in a condo alone and now Mom is married. They live in a large home with a large backyard and 5 more cats than he is used to. Waffles Mom reached out and wanted to get back on the right foot with training. Since life has changed to much then it was so smart of Waffles Mom to schedule another session to get things back to where they were before. You can always start over. It was so great seeing them. This is Waffle working on “place” aka decompression zone and leash structured walks in the house. Little Waffle just needs some confidence building, since dynamics changed so much. Good job!!!

Bruno, a 7 month old Bulldog had some great training along with his dad today. Bruno had some undesirable behavior issues. Peeing in the home, destroying floorboards, pulling on leash, jumping on guests and very pushy behaviors.

But after our 2.5 hour appointment his dad now knows how to communicate clearly with his little pup. We worked on boundaries, leash training, crate training, place training and potty training. In just two and a half hours Bruno improved almost day and night! I am so excited for these two, keep up the great works.

Meet Jett. She is a big strong 3 year oldGSD female and she needed my help and her parents needed some guidance. Jett and her parents have done obedience training with local GSD groups and more but remember obedience isn’t going to help a dog become confident as you as a protector or parents. There is much more to a relationship than obedience. Jett is being to protective, reactive on leash towards humane and dogs, she was being a big bully to her 14 year old mini Schnauzer brother, extremely defensive when people come in the house and she is controlling her parents in every aspect in her life. In this case and most all cases I help with is recognizing the deep down error in communication we give out dogs without even knowing it. Everything from leaving toys out always, having a doggie door, giving unearned affection, allowing furniture Privileges, humanizing a dog before it’s ready and much more. Giving a dog all these things before having a respectful, trusting relationship can lead to a dog to think they are in complete control of everything which can be extremely dangerous. I’m so happy they gave me a call to help with communication and get them in a better place.

These two girls were adopted a month apart and they have been a bit troublesome for their owners. The Chihuahua was barking uncontrollably, resource guarding, snapping at the kids, super reactive on leash towards dogs and people. The Shiba pulled on leash, wasn’t getting along well with the Chihuahua and also was resource guarding. This is usually what happens when you have dogs that have no boundaries, rules or structure. It’s like leaving keys to your car and getting mad at your child for talking your car for a drive. You think that they would know not to do it but teaching them right from wrong is always the right thing to do. I taught the family place training for decompression (not obedience) lots of boundaries( no couch, human bed, kitchen or even personal bubble) and we worked on leash training. Readjusting our relationship with our dogs is very important especially if you’re having behavioral issues. Very proud of this family for keeping up this lifestyle training.

Shelby is up for adoption. I’ve been working with her and she is so wonderful. She is a approx 3 year old Mal/mix. She is so smart and ready to do anything do you. Crate trained, spayed, and up to date with vaccines. She is easy to train and is looking for her forever family. She is good with dogs, and people. She is very loving and willing to do whatever you want her to do.

Don’t we all just want calm, social, confident and happy dogs?
This amazing 5 month old corgi killed it at our appointment yesterday. We worked on boundaries, place training for decompression(not obedience) and leash training. This little guy knew and understood everything I asked. Why you ask? It’s because everything I teach your dog already knows because of his Instinct. Dogs only speak one language so why confuse or stress a dog out. Let’s keep it simple, I don’t work with treats, ecollar or even words. Let me teach you a better way of training your dog.

This year is already starting amazing. Helped a fellow dog mom with her two pups that needed guidance on how to act on leash and how to act more civilized in the home. Lucian the larger of the two dogs is extremely leash reactive and will redirect on any other dog walking with him. The little guy needed work on the leash and confidence building too. They have been to other trainers but the issues needed to be broken down to the core. One trainer used treats to teach place, so the dogs didn’t really want to stay in place because they knew if they got off they would get a treat for getting back on. Lucian the extremely reactive boy had a trainer that would use an ecollar at 30/40 if he even looked at another dog. Which at the end was making him more leash reactive and frustrated. It’s super important to find a trainer that makes sense to your dog and yourself. A trainer that you talk to and have a good relationship with. I’m so glad that their owner reached out. I stripped everything down, no ecollar, not treats, I don’t want any kind of overstimulation going on. We are trying to work with the dogs not being constantly overstimulated. Let’s say the appointment went incredible. Both pups did amazing on place and we worked on very structured walks that helped the dogs become less stimulated at everything. Teaching mom how to walk the dogs properly also made a world of difference. Super happy with how it all turned out.

Creating healthy boundaries with your dog will build a more confident and respectful dog.
Boundaries are when dogs cannot pass on their own ever or only when invited through. Dogs cannot push their way through you. Help your dog become more confident in your leadership.

Adopted!

Up for adoption.

He is with me for some training and till I find him a home. He is adoptable through
BajaPaws rescue.

Meet Tux!
He’s a 2 year old Bichon Frise who is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He is a very loving boy. We don’t know much about his history other than he was pulled from a kill shelter. He does great with other dogs and cats. He loves to play and run around then he will crash next to you for a nap. He sleeps in the crate at night and does great.

What a great job this big boy did. Harleys dad is doing things right! Harley was adopted 3 weeks ago at 5 months and was already showing signs of bad leash reactivity and insecurities. He was very timid when I came over and had no idea how to settle down. He also would follow his dad all over the house, which is a insecurity issue. Now look at him!! Super chill and decompressed. I also got them set up with the right leash and taught his dad how to guide him with his walks VS let Harley take the lead. When you allow dogs to take the lead, it actually makes him really insecure and then behavioral issues become predominantly seen. The best way to work with the dog is to guide them and teach them exactly what to do that way they build their confidence and they don’t have to struggle with insecurities of their purpose.

Peach was a great little student yesterday. ❤️ Her mom needed some guidance with raising Peach to be a confident girl. Peach is 7 months old with some separation anxiety so I had to help work with mom on building her confidence so she can be left alone for longer periods of time. We also worked on healthy boundaries, leash walking and decompression. Peaches will learn to be confident and more independent with the help of her mom.
