☀️ WARM WEATHER POLICY IN PLACE FOR NEXT FEW DAYS:
- pick-ups, walks & drop-offs earlier than usual to avoid warmest part of day
- shorter walks
- walks in shade/ access to streams/ water
- time in van kept to minimum
The Woof & Walk van has the following features to keep the dogs safe and comfortable:
- air conditioning in the back for the dogs
- roof fan that extracts warm air from van
- each van crate with own water bowl
- insulated panelling to keep heat out

Today I achieved something that for most of my life I thought I wouldn't be capable of. I ran a marathon!
I spent most of my childhood and teenage years as a swimmer and then a rower, and running always felt very unnatural for me. In the last few years, I have proudly progressed from my first 5k and Parkrun, to 4 half marathons and now today, my first full marathon.

Running a marathon requires hard work, commitment and both physical and mental determination, with both the race itself and the months and years of training.

Thank you to my amazing wife Claudia for always supporting me with my training and goals and for being there to support me today ❤️

Completing the marathon has taught me to never write yourself off with something that you think you're not capable of. Start with small steps and give it a go! Keep putting one foot in front of the other and you'll be amazed at how far you can get!

🦉 Helping a Tawny Owlet 🦉 Today I unexpectedly came across a young tawny owlet in a pathway of a local woodland. My instinct was conflicted between leaving it be, versus helping it in some way. I kept an eye on it from a distance whilst I did some research online. I found conflicting advice and ultimately decided to ring @theowlstrust for advice. Pam at The Owls Trust was really helpful and advised that I try and lift it onto the highest branch that I was able to reach, ideally with the trunk of the tree accessible for the owlet to be able to rest against. Pam also gave me advice on how best to pick the owlet up. Fortunately I was able to pick it up and lift it onto a suitable branch. Very soon after, I heard loud squawking and then saw a pair of tawny owls fly across the woodland to a nearby tree. I popped back quietly an hour later and the owlet was no longer on the branch where I had left it, so I feel reassured that the owl parents got the owlet back to its nest. It was amazing to see such a beautiful owlet up close and to give a helping hand. *Please don’t think that every owlet that you find on the ground needs to be helped. Depending on the circumstances (and the species), sometimes leaving it be is the best thing to do. Contact an Owl charity/ sanctuary for advice for your specific circumstance* 🦉
