Happy 8th Gotcha Day to me! 🐶🎉💙😍

Such a special day when my hoomans came to collect me from SYLML Cockapoos/Pinetrees Farm in Lincolnshire and welcomed me into the Woolf Pack! ❤️

I’ve changed a lot over the last 8 years - both in size and colour 😜 - but I still love a good run in the park and cuddles with my family! 🥰

Proud to wear my new poppy bandana from Pets UK in support of Royal British Legion & Poppyscotland. 🌺

Thinking of all the courageous service animals - the dogs and horses - who served so diligently and lost their lives in wartime. 💔

The purple poppy is a symbol of remembrance in the UK for animals that served during wartime. The symbol was created in 2006 based on the principle of the traditional red remembrance poppy for Remembrance Day. 💜

The sun came out for my special day 🌞 so I celebrated in the best way - running around the field with Nougat, my grandma’s toy poodle 🐩 whilst showing off my birthday rosette! 😜🐾

My homecoming! 🎉🎉🎉

So happy to finally be back home! 😃😃😃

Whilst waiting in the hall for Daddy and Rio to get back from the pool/gym, I was checking out my new slimline silhouette in the mirror 🤩 as I’ve lost a lot of weight recently after all the fantastic long walks/runs with my dog boarder Gina/Pals 4 Pets whilst my hoomans were on holiday, and then when I was ill over the last week - now I can’t wait for my much-needed groom to be rescheduled when I’m well enough to go! 🐶✂️

Then I had a lovely sleep on the sofa! 😴😴😴

So excited to be reunited with my hoomans 😃🥰😍 after 5 long days in hospital!

I had a severe bout of gastritis/enteritis which the vet said had “ravaged” my system (they don’t know what caused it), so I needed IV fluids to rehydrate me for 5 days, two abdominal scans to rule out anything sinister, and blood tests - although my intestines are dilated, thankfully there is no blockage and my organs/levels are fine. I’m still on meds to get me fit and well again but I’ve been a good boy and have let my hoomans give them to me! 😜

BIG THANKS to lovely Lenska and all the fantastic team at Medivet for their care and kindness during my stay, and for getting me started on the road to recovery. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

YAY!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I was finally discharged from hospital last night 😃 after 5 long days - which felt like 5 months! 😢

Medivet Watford took such great care of me 🙌🏻 and the Woolf Welcome Committee was there waiting to greet me! 🥰 😍❤️

Even though I’ve lost my usual bark (hopefully only temporarily!) and a lot of weight, I had enough energy to do my excited shimmy and to wag my tail, running between my hoomans 😜 - I was as happy to see them as they were to see me! ☺️ (please excuse Mummy’s excitedly high-pitched voice! 😂)

Feeling very tired and miserable 😢 with a really sore tummy over the last few days - I haven’t eaten, despite Mummy trying to tempt me with my favourite chicken (boiled - as recommended by the lovely vet Anika at Blythwood Vets Bushey) and rice (sprinkled with probiotics) and I haven’t even wanted my treats or the chicken-flavoured rehydration fluid. 😟

Mummy wanted to take a photo of me before she took me to hospital but I couldn’t even look up at the camera (and she has trained me so well to pose for her over the last 7 and a half years). 😔

As I haven’t drunk any water since Wednesday, I’m very dehydrated and weak, so after a few emergency visits to the vet (at least the anti-nausea injection that Anika gave me yesterday has worked), I’ve now been hospitalised for 2 days of rehydration/IV fluids, blood/stool tests, etc. 🙁

I was very scared but the nice vet at Blythwood Bushey was very gentle with me when Mummy took me back for a follow-up appointment today to see if I had improved - he checked me over very thoroughly and then got me booked into Medivet Watford within a couple of hours where the lovely vet Elena was so kind and patient when she examined me - she even sat down on the floor next to me to show me her stethoscope and the thermometer before she examined me. 🥰

Please send your prayers and positive thoughts my way for a full recovery so that I can go back home ASAP for cuddles, kisses (and lots of licking! 😜) with my hoomans! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
