Meet Fiddler Crab: A Twisty Triumph! -- A story about a special cat and why The Feline Connection needs your support this Giving season.
This little survivor isn't your average cat! Fiddler Crab came to us with a rough start—with Radial Hypoplasia—Twisty Cat Syndrome—and some internal issues that made breathing a struggle. But this brave kitty never gives up!
Our amazing vets performed a complicated surgery that included rebuilding his diaphragm and moving his heart to the right spot. Now, Fiddler Crab is healed up and ready to find his Forever Family and support our fall fundraiser!
He’s super sweet, loves to lick you, great with other cats, is decent with dogs, quiet, litter trained, etc. He has been neutered, microchipped, and given age-appropriate vaccines. He tested negative (good) for FeLV and FIV. He was raised in a home. Cats with Radial Hypoplasia need a little more care and thoughtfulness with their environment to accommodate their special way of getting around. It is a genetic trait and not contagious.

This little girl has made huge progress! She will initially require patience and time to settle in. She would do best in a quiet home without small children. She is still skeptical of strangers but is very curious and is always looking for treats. She likes to talk and chirp. She has learned that pats and attention are wonderful and seeks it out regularly. She loves cuddling and being held by trusted people. She likes to “help” sweep, by tackling the dustpan brush by grabbing hold and not letting go.
Her favorite treats are delectables and freeze-dried minnows. She growls if anyone gets too close to "her" minnow. She loves to wrestle and play with her siblings. She would do best with another cat buddy.

Esperanza and Mariposa are a bonded pair of sleek, friendly black beauties who would love a home together! They are 1-2 years old and have previously had babies, but are now ready to
lounge around a comfy and relatively calm home. They are very friendly. Esperanza would like to jump onto your lap and give you loving headbumps with her purr motor running, while Mariposa would like to be in the room with you and receive pets while not necessarily on your lap. They would prefer to be the only cats in the home and have ignored our foster’s senior dog so would likely be fine with a calm dog in the house. Toys, especially catnip toys, are their favorite!
