Whalsay Riding Club

Members of the riding club met last Saturday for an end of season get together. We had a super night with a buffet, a quiz, some consultation on how the riding club is run and a prize giving. The bairns have been working towards certificates in Riding and Horse Management at lessons so we were able to hand out certificates to everyone. Well done to all wir bairns who have all put in a lot of hard work and improved a lot! Special Awards went to Ruby & Freya Polson for Best Attendance, Willa Shearer for Bravery, Elsa Huntley for Most Determined and Joanna Leeman for Most Improved. We are all looking forward to riding club starting up again in May - 89 days to go!

We had a super simmer dim ride around the Brough loop 2 weeks ago! Thank you very much to all the drivers we met who passed wis safely.

Whalsay Riding Club will be holding an online auction to raise funds for the club. The auction will run from 29th August - 2nd September, any donations would be gratefully received. Please message the club page or Kristina Eunson with details of any donations.

We are doing a sponsored Simmer Dim ride around the brough loop danight leaving Challister at 6pm so please look out for ponies and drive carefully!

Thankyou very much to everybody dat donated raffles, baked and came to wir Sunday teas, we had an excellent day we a really good turn oot!

Whalsay Riding Club has applied to the Community Council for £500 funding from the PB event again so we need all our Whalsay resident members and supporters, 12 years and over, to go along to the primary school damorns night between 6pm and 9pm to vote for wis 🙂
