Today is Remembrance Sunday 🏵️
Poppy will be one on Wednesday, and got her name due to when she was born.
Don't forget to join the two minutes silence at 11 to remember all the men, women and animals who lost their lives for us

We had a lovely day today at Solent show for Wessex, IOW and SCC Pets! The first victory was that we didn't get lost on the way there! 🥳
All the pigs did well, with everyone coming away with something 😊
Poppy got best TSW adult on the Solent side, and Lampetia got best NEB on both sides, beating Cheesecake! But the pets did fantastic today. Roo got best U5 boar under SCC, then came second out of 12 in the U5 Boar/sow challenge. RJ got a 3rd out of 9 rough adult boars, with Zebbie getting a 2nd and 3rd out of 6 in rough adult sows. Twirlywoo got quite a few firsts, but came second adult owned under IOW, beaten by none other that Speedy! Speedy then went on to win best overall pet!! 🥳
So I'm super proud of the piggies, as always, and I'm pleased to have spent a great day with friends 🥰

Today was Mid Sussex show, and it was a lovely day! The pigs did well. Cheesecake won best NEB, Twirlywoo won best Rexoid pet, Poppy won best Tort & White, and Asclepius came second in Veterans! He's a special old man 🥰
We also received a certificate from the Southern CC for winning the most points in NEB in 2023 🥳

Yesterday was a brilliant day at Black Country show. I had the pleasure of judging pets, and there were some real characters which made it a tough job!
I was also able to award two "Judges Merit" rosettes to piggies that had special qualities but didn't make it to the final line up. 🏆
We still took along some of the purebred pigs to show. Lampetia got reserve NEB out of 33!!! On the RVCC side, and all the Ridgebacks got cards (bar poor Asclepius 😂) there were 17 Ridgebacks in total, which is an amazing turnout!
I also took Nutmeg, my tortoiseshell boar, and Poppy, who got 3rd out of 10 tort & whites
All in all, it was a lovely day. Thankyou Jme for my lovely flowers, too 💐

Today was Black Country Show, I'll do a proper post about that tomorrow once I'm rested 💤
But my Facebook memories has reminded me that 11 years ago today, I picked up Little Pig and Pip from a local rescue centre. I had had a bit of a gap from keeping guineas for a few years, then I accidentally ended up with two sheltie boars (Smokey and Simba) and once again got bitten by the bug.
I had gone to the rescue centre just to have a look, but I fell in love with my lil boys and couldn't leave without them 😂🤦‍♀️

I realise I have not posted from Epsom last Sunday! I also did not take a picture of all the prize cards, sorry pigs 🤦‍♀️
There was a great turnout for NEB, although we got beaten by a lovely Tweed
Poppy got best TSW and came 2nd out of 5 in marked, which is pretty good!
I also judged Juvenile pets and U5 adult owned pets, so got to see some lovely little piggies. It wasn't easy to make decisions but we got there in the end!
To top it off, our good friend Charlie got Best In Show 🏆 so a massive congratulations to him! 🥳

Yesterday was Real London Show 🏆
No trophies for us this year, but we did get some decent results! Lampetia got best Ridgeback under RVCC and Cheesecake got reserve NEB under RL. Twirlywoo got two firsts in U5 pet rexoid sow, and Roo got two firsts and a third out of 24 in pets. Poppy got two seconds under the NTWCC, one being second out of 10, so not too shabby either!
I did the books for Derek Pike and got to see a lot of lovely adult coated Cavies. It was also lovely to see loads of familiar faces coming to check out the scene and say hello 👋 😊

The last few weeks have been very busy and I realised I hadn't posted my pics from Oldham show!
There was an amazing turnout of rare varieties for the RVCC trophy show, including a LOT of Ridgebacks!!
Lampetia won third best 5/8 NEB on the RVCC side and also came third best NEB overall on the Oldham side, out of 30! I am so pleased with this little lady 🥰

Just a quick post after a long weekend and a cracking show at Oldham! It took 4 hours to drive home from Woodley to Woodley 😂🤦‍♀️
So time for a sleepy and I'll do a post about the pigs tomorrow 💤

Today was one of our favourite shows, 🐏 Edenbridge and Oxted 🐄. It was a debut show for a few of our team today, but we had a fab day! 😊
RJ, Zebbie and Roo all got seconds in pets, and Asclepius won best NEB 🥰 I'm super proud of my old boy.

My Nephew was also very excited to be going to a guinea pig show again. In the morning, he helped brush "his" piggies and set everything up. We spent some time exploring the showgrounds, but also in the tent where he made new friends. Finally, at the end of the day, he was very excited to see that his favourite piggy had won a special rosette! 🥰

Since being home, I've been listening to Skrillex playing Reading Festival 🤘 while putting the pigs to bed, much to their horror. . . I'm not sure they like my dancing as it delayed their veg delivery 😂 but I'll pretend that they love it as much as I do 😂

Today was Worthing & Eastergate show! Thankfully the weather was a lot cooler than yesterday, otherwise the pigs would have stayed home.
Cheesecake made her debut appearance as a Purebreed today and won NEB!!! I'm super proud of my pretty girl 🥰
There was a lot of quality pigs today, so it was great to be able to do Dons books in the morning.
I also went to visit my cousin for her baby shower as she is local to the show ❤️

💛Today is Guinea Pig appreciation day!!🧡
I appreciate my piggies so much, they bring me a lot of happiness and I've found some amazing friends through the fancy 🥰

Today we were at Mid Sussex Show, although I wasn't feeling too great 😢
I am so greatful for everyone who helped me and checked in on me over the course of the day, it's such a loving community! 🥰
I was book steward for Peter Nunn today, which allowed me to sit quietly while still being helpful and also learn a bit more about various breeds
Itoji got best of breed and Harley got a 1st in pets too! But the Ridgebacks really did me proud. Asclepius won best NEB out of 6 with Lampetia coming second!! We've had so many great comments about her at the few shows she's been to. She's going to have a bit of a break now and hopefully grow some more (she's too energetic 🤦‍♀️)

This weekend we have been in Stafford! On Saturday was the NCC stock show and today was the NCC AGM.
We were super impressed with the Ridgeback turn out, there were 10 in total, and only half were ours! Lampetia won best U5 Ridgeback under the NCC and also 3rd AA NEB under the RVCC! Caerus got 2nd Reserve Adult under NCC.
I'm proud of all the piggies, no matter their results. They're now tucked up in their beds at home for some well deserved rest. . . I am sure I will join them soon 💤

It's been over 10 years since I came across my first "Ridgeback", who I cleverly named Backwards Pig or BP for short. He was such a cuddly and kind character, I instantly fell in love and began my research on Ridgebacks. Once I discovered that it would be difficult to get one as a pet, I decided to get back into breeding so I could help this unique and rare breed! Here's a video of BP playing with his ball during one of his stays with me 🥰 He was eventually retired to me as he was originally a school pet.

🌟✨A Christmas Angel✨🌟 This might just be my most favourite video ever 💕 is it Rupert, or the real Santa Paws?!🎅 I miss this pig I tried to re-share it from the original post in 2021 a few times today, but it didn't work, so I figured I'd re-post it entirely! **Edit** as it turns out, it did post the last time I tried but didn't immediately show up, but hey, extra Rupert posts 😂🥰
