It was a pretty slow afternoon for Zoose, Teddy, Callie, Rosie, Arlo and Luna as we were all feeling the heat so enjoyed some water fun, exploring and plenty of cuddles in the shade 🥵🍃☀️

Thursday afternoon 🐌
Luna, Blu, Riko, Scooby and Buddy joined me for fun in the sun at the Playground this afternoon😎. It was warm, so we kept things quiet with lots of exploring and splashing. Buddy and Blu helped me fill the pools and soak the grass🌊 as Luna watched and waited. She wanted the pool all to herself so she could have a proper splash😄. Riko and Scooby were happy cooling their toes in the wet grass and waiting their turn for a quiet dip in the pool ☺️. We wandered and sniffed, practicing Search and finding the breezy spots. We stopped for Find It and name games🍬, before Riko, Luna and Buddy had a short burst of energy and played chase 🚀🥵. They soon decided to join Blu, Scooby and I in the shade for a break as it was a bit too warm for crazy fun🥵. We enjoyed more splashing in the pool, a sprinkling from the hose and a lazy loop of the middle field before it was time to enjoy the cool air in the van on the way home.

Thursday morning 🐌
Haggis led me back to the big field this morning, where he spent his time nose down, following a scent through the grass🌱. We bypassed the big rock, and zig zagged along the fenceline, then through the wild grass at the far wall 🧐. I'm not sure what Haggis was following, but it must have been very interesting as he only lifted his nose to check in and make sure I was still wandering behind him 😂. He had a few bursts of energy when we practiced I Stop, You Stop 🤭 and he bounced back to show me how clever he was, before bouncing away again. We made it all the way to the far corner, before cutting straight across the field to head back home 🌱 with a wee splash in the puddle for good measure 🤣.
Rosie, Jazz, Charlie, Oscar, Skye and Casper had a sunny session at the Playground, and we made the most of it with lots of sunbathing and splashing 🌊😎. We looped the fields, catching up on smells and enjoying a nibble on the grass, then Rosie found a breezy spot, so we all joined her for a sit down 🥰. Skye spent most of her time snuffling in the really long grass, just the tip of her ever wagging tail on show 🤭. Jazz, Casper and Oscar explored, sometimes together, sometimes on their own. Rosie sunbathed and rolled in the cool grass and Charlie couldn't decide whether he wanted lots of cuddles, or to zig zag for good smells, so he did lots of both ☺️.
We all wandered and sniffed, played Find It and name games 🍬, had a splash 🌊 and lay in the cool grass 🌱 until it was time to enjoy a snooze on the way home.

Wednesday afternoon 🌱
Riko joined Archie, Rex, Theo, Cooper, Willow and Blu for the afternoon at the Playground. It seems everyone had turned into a cow by the time we got to the field, as the group wandered off to graze on the grass 🐮😂. I'm sure there was a little bit of sniffing in there too 🤔 as we split up to enjoy the breeze in the fields.
As well as grass nibbling, there was rolling around with Cooper and Archie, bitey face and wrestle with Willow, Riko and Rex, and snack hunting with Blu. Theo was just being his usual spaniel self, racing here there and everywhere, sometimes playing, sometimes watching 🤭. We all enjoyed a slow loop of the end field before sitting at the hoops to take in the quiet afternoon 🥱😎. There were a few more chase and wrestle games, some searching on the banking, tricky Find It in the grass and name recognition at the bench before we wandered to the paddling pool for a splash before one last snuffle round the middle field to end the afternoon ☺️🌱.

Wednesday morning 🌱
It was a drizzly walk for Luna and I as we headed for a slow sniff down at the cyclepath. Luna had a great time zug zagging from one side of the path to the other, to collect as many smells as she could ☺️. We stopped at all the best ones and took it slow as we wandered to the river for a splash 🌊. No swimming, just splashing 🤣 and once we were both soaked, Luna led me back along to where the path split and we took the other route. There was a lot of smells to enjoy here too so it was stop/start before we headed into the marsh field for the last of the sniffing, exploring and mud splashing all the way back to the van.
Dougal, Rosie, Jazz, Brodie and Millie joined me at the Playground for a quiet sniffclub 🌱. We all looped the middle field a few times before practicing Wait at the gate. Jazz, Brodie, Rosie and Dougal took off at full speed to stretch their legs as Millie and I had a splash at the pool 🌊. After more sniffing and exploring, the group joined me at the platform for tricky Find It 🌱🍬 , then they wandered off again. We enjoyed the breeze and there was tasty new grass to nibble as we wandered here and there. We kept things quiet, playing Search and Touch, as well as practicing name recognition and snacking on raspberries 🤭. There was a lot of lazing around as we spent rest of our time laying in the cool grass and relaxing 😎.

A very sad day today, as we say bye to Teddy, who is moving outside of our service area 😭😭😭
I have known this guy since he was a puppy, literally from his first days home. He is one of the Oryginals, dogs who started just after I set up Pooch & Friends, and those who enjoyed wild walks before we set up the Puppy Playground.
Cheeky wee fellow, super easygoing, not fazed by anyone's size or craziness. One of those dogs who literally fit into every group. Little Rosie's and Zoose's best buddy.
We will miss you so very much ❤️❤️❤️ All the best in the new place! I'm sure you will love all the new walks and all the new smells 😊❤️🐾
Here's some 2019 Teddy's photos for your enjoyment 😉

Tuesday afternoon ☀️
The sun was still shining for Willow, Luna, Cooper, Blu, Theo, Rudi, Bracken and Reginald as they raced into the Playground 🚀. We kept things quiet, taking our time sniffing and exploring as we moved from one field to the next 🌱.
Willow, Rudi, Theo and Blu had a couple of chase and wrestles, but spent most of their time wandering and sniffing. Cooper found a good spot to roll around, Bracken followed Reginald and Luna enjoyed a quiet wander in the long cool grass☺️.
We all sat at the bench, in the breeze, and practiced name recognition and Sit before tricky Find It in the long grass 🍬🍬. We had lots of fun splashing in the pool and sunbathing at the platform before heading to sit in the shade for a while and watch the world go by. One by one the group wandered off for their last sniff and snuffle before a well earned snooze on the way home 🥱.

Caring for animals isn’t what we do, it’s who we are.
I have spent countless hours studying animals, both in formal and less formal ways.
I have gained two animal sciences degrees, one postgraduate diploma, and many other bigger and smaller qualifications and certificates. I learn on daily basis.
I don't mention qualifications because I think you can only be good with animals if you're qualified. Far from it.
Although the amount of effort, time (and money) that went into deepening my knowledge, the stresses of it, the sleepless weeks that led to achieving qualifications, were all part of the journey I am proud to have been through.
The years spent doing unpaid voluntary placements and internships, in order to one day become a paid animal professional, are sign of my commitment.
Many years of paid work in the animal industry have given me experience in dealing with various animals, under different circumstances, and often in very stressful or emergency situations.
I went a long way to have the privilege of calling myself animal professional, and I am extremely happy to finally be able to work in line with my ethics and provide the quality service our customers deserve. I live and breathe animals, that will never change.
