Wednesday afternoon 🥶
Willow and I were feeling outnumbered by the boys as Theo, Blu, Oakley and Rex led us into the Playground. After a sniff in the grass and at the straw bales, we headed to the slide to practice Paws Up and name recognition 🍬. Oakley fancied some race and chase, inviting Willow and Rex to play. Willow didn't hesitate and raced off after him 😂🚀. Rex wandered off to explore with Blu and they slowly covered almost every inch of the field. As they were all busy, Theo and I had fun practicing Find It with the tennis ball that he had found 🤭. I've no idea where he gets them although I am sure he has a secret cache of them somewhere 🥎🥎🥎🤔. We paused the games and enjoyed a group sit down at the pink tyre with easy Find It 🍬🍬🍬 before a slow loop back to the pool for a splash. We spent the rest of the afternoon racing, chasing, sniffing and snuffling through the fields before heading back to the van for a nap on the way home 🤭.

Wednesday morning 🥶
It was a chilly start for Dave and I as we headed to the quarry. Dave decided to start with a swim 😱. Rather him than me 🥶. The sun slowly warmed us up as we wandered along the path. Once we were in the quarry, Dave was off to follow his nose. He once flushed a hare here and he hasn't forgotten 😅, so he likes to check the same spot every time, just incase 🐇. He didn't see it today, as he flushed it out through the trees towards me and it raced to hide in the rocks, so Dave and I spent a while tracking its escape route and enjoying the smell it had left behind. Dave was having such a good time spanielling that his harness had gone a bit crazy, so after a quick reset, it was time to enjoy a loop in the sunshine 😎 before we headed back out to the path. We stopped to catch our breath and enjoy the autumn colours in the morning sunlight🍁🍂 before heading back home for a well earned nap.
Rosie, Jazz, Brodie, Millie, Willow and Louis wandered off into the Playground for morning sniffclub 🍃. The group split up to explore in the warm sunshine 😎. Rosie found some excellent places to lay in the breeze, Jazz kept himself busy tracking smells from the fenceline through the fields 🧐. Willow and Louis paired up to run and explore as Millie and Brodie wandered off on their own to collect smells on the breeze ☺️. We played group Find It, had fun with Paws Up and Touch, splashed in the pools and made the most of the sunshine with lots of sitting around 😎. The wind picked up and it got a bit chilly, so we headed to the banking for Search and sniffs 🌿 before a few loops of the middle field and a group race to end our session 🚀☺️.

Tuesday afternoon 🔎
It was a bit drizzly at the Playground this afternoon as Willow, Blu, Theo, Luna and Reginald joined me for some fun and games 🤭. There were lots of smells to enjoy, so the group split up to spend a while exploring 🍃. Willow and I found a good spot to sit and watch Theo play with the boomer ball. He'd knock it around, then race off to see what Luna and Reginald were up to, then raced back to the boomer ball 🚀. Blu was busy hunting snacks with Luna 🍬as Reginald wandered off to see what he could find🔎. Theo came back with a tennis ball, so we had fun using it for some group Find It🥎. A wee dummy throw had them all looking away as I hid it in the long grass🤫. Noses working hard, with Willow even joining in. Although everyone other than Theo eventually got bored and wandered off😅. Theo and I soon lost the ball as we practiced Search 🤔. I am sure we will find it again tomorrow. We wandered over to join the others for a quiet explore, a splash in the pool, name recognition and a wee sit down with a snack in the rain before our last loop to end the afternoon 🌿.

Tuesday morning 🔎
Haggis and I enjoyed a slow sniffari to start the day. We stopped to check out the smells around the van🧐, then made our way down to the road, where we found lots of good stops to practice watching the world go by 😎. We enjoyed watching all the cars and trucks as they went through the roadworks ☺️. Lots to see and smell as we looped down through the houses and back along the road. Haggis made sure to collect lots of good smells and had the slobbers to show for it 😅.
Charlie, Oscar, Teddi, Cora, Willow, Rolo, Loki and Cody joined me for a quiet morning snuffle at the Playground 🍃. After a catch up in the first field, we raced into the middle field, where the group split up to explore for a while. Everyone was busy and all was calm until Loki and Willow started their on/off game of chase😆🚀. Cora ran with them for a while, before heading off to join Teddi, Oscar and Charlie for Search at the banking 🧐🌿. Once her nose was switched on, that was it. She spent the rest of her time hunting smells and old mice nests 🤭. Cody was doing a perimeter sniffcheck and nibbling a bit of tasty grass with Rolo. Rolo always finds the good stuff 😂🌿. We all wandered, splashed, played Find It and raced around, making the most of all the space 🚀. We had a group Search in the rough grass, with only Willow choosing not to join in. She was busy watching the birds 🤭.

Monday afternoon 🍁
It was quiet at the Playground this afternoon as Bella, Willow, Roxy, Luna, Brodie and Dolly wandered off to explore 🌿. We stopped at the big tyre to play Find It 🍬, then made our way into the end field where Brodie raced off to see the horses👋🏻. Luna and Bella found something nice to roll on🧐 as Roxy and Willow raced and sniffed together🚀. Dolly joined us for a while, but she had important sniffing to do in the middle field 🤔. We all wandered, explored and sat around, enjoying the afternoon breeze before we made our way to the platform for Find It 🍬🍬and the pool for a splash 🌊. There was a few lazy chase games amongst the group then we spent the rest of our time practicing Search in the rough grass, finding smells near the fence and watching the clouds roll by 😎.

Monday morning 🍁
What a lovely misty morning for a walk with Sam. We headed to the quarry where we enjoyed a long slow sniff to catch up on the smells. It was so quiet and all the leaves and grass have changed from green🍃 to yellow, orange and red🍂. It was beautiful so we sat for a while, listening to the birds and enjoying a cuddle 🥰before we wandered on to check out the big rocks and puddles🌊. We did a big loop, stopping at the best smells before heading back out of the quarry. We were even treated to a glimpse of blue sky and a rainbow as we wandered back along the path in the drizzle 🤭. Sam sneaked in a cheeky swim to end his walk 🥶.
The sun was out at the Playground and it was rather warm so Dobby, Zoe, Scooby, Ruby, Harley, Bella and Oakley headed straight for the soggy grass and paddling pools 🤭. We wandered into the end field for a slow sniff then it was time for games. Oakley and Dobby paired up for bouncy chase and wrestle🚀. Ruby, Harley and Zoe stayed busy with lots of sniffing, splashing and exploring🌿 . Bella was busy rolling and running 😆as Scooby had high tailed it back to the middle field for some peace and quiet 😅. We played group Find It, practiced Search, splashed in the pools, explored and enjoyed lots of sitting in the sunshine 😎. We ended our session with a lazy loop of the middle field where we practiced name recognition🍬, had one last splash🌊 and collected the last of the smells in the grass 🌿.

Thursday afternoon 🍁
Rudi, Blu, Zoose, Buddy, Brig and Scooby enjoyed an afternoon of fun and games at the Playground. We started off with a good explore through the fields, collecting lots of smells and sneaky snacks then it was back to the big tyre to catch the smells from the snack van on the breeze 🤭. Zoose and Blu paired up to hunt down a few well scattered snacks as Scooby and I stayed out of the way of Buddy and Rudi, who were racing after Brig, as she got the zoomies 🚀. They were absolutely flying round the fields 😱🫣. We took a break from the crazy chase to sit and catch our breath, playing name recognition and Touch before the group split up to explore for a while.
We had a splash at the pool, checked out the playhouse and platform and practiced Search in the long grass before a few lazy loops to keep things quiet and calm 😎. We sniffed and explored all the way back to the van, where Brig chose to sneak in one last zoomie run 😅.

Caring for animals isn’t what we do, it’s who we are.
I have spent countless hours studying animals, both in formal and less formal ways.
I have gained two animal sciences degrees, one postgraduate diploma, and many other bigger and smaller qualifications and certificates. I learn on daily basis.
I don't mention qualifications because I think you can only be good with animals if you're qualified. Far from it.
Although the amount of effort, time (and money) that went into deepening my knowledge, the stresses of it, the sleepless weeks that led to achieving qualifications, were all part of the journey I am proud to have been through.
The years spent doing unpaid voluntary placements and internships, in order to one day become a paid animal professional, are sign of my commitment.
Many years of paid work in the animal industry have given me experience in dealing with various animals, under different circumstances, and often in very stressful or emergency situations.
I went a long way to have the privilege of calling myself animal professional, and I am extremely happy to finally be able to work in line with my ethics and provide the quality service our customers deserve. I live and breathe animals, that will never change.
