It's not what you think! 👀

A lot of people assume that if their dog is scooting it's probably because they have worms. But this isn't true!

The most common reason for a scoot dog is block a**l glands! You can normally tell the difference because dogs may also lick and chew the base of their tail or smell foul and fishy when their glands are clogged up. 🤢 Not nice, eh?

Don't worry, there's something you can do to revive your hound's hiney! 🫢

A common cause of blocked a**l glands is a low fibre diet, which unfortunately is quite frequent for pooches on commercial brand kibble. To get your pup's butt back to normal, try adding a fibre rich supplement to your dog's dinner!

This gorgeous doggy here is the lovely Rocco 😍

He had been displaying some behaviours that were out of the ordinary and his owners we wondering what they could do for their pooch!
Rocco was scooting often, had loose stools and was biting and chewing at the base of his tail.

These behaviours are often typical of a dog with blocked a**l glands! Dogs a**l glands are located on either side of your dogs bottom and are used to mark territories and communicate with other dogs (which is why you'll see dogs sniffing each others' bums)! When these glands becomes blocked they can cause pain and irritation for dogs and so they'll scoot to try and relieve themselves!
