We've had a busy day already! All the puppies had their first vet visit today, as well as Mama Venus got a check up. Everyone is looking very healthy! Hearts and lungs sound normal, temperatures are normal, eyes and ears developed nicely, patellas and range of motion are normal, and no hernias!

They also all received their first round of vaccines and were de-wormed. We'll be back in 3 weeks for their next rounds before going home! The Veterinarian and technicians kept saying how good of puppies they were, and they all got some good snuggles. Success!

One week (nearly) shoot! I can't believe these babies are already almost a week old. They've all doubled their birth weight, and are very active little ones.

Had to snap some quick phone pictures of the babies in their new hat while we did weight checks tonight! I will say, in terms of cuteness, there's not mushroom for improvement with this bunch ;)

We also officially have our first 1 pounder! Oyster weighed in at 16 ounces tonight, meaning he has gained 3.2 ounces so far. Everyone else has gained weight as well, with everyone between 14-15 ounces.

Venus went into active labor at about 4 this morning. She had 6 perfect little babies and was finished right at 5:50. All babies are latching great and are healthy, Venus is already being a wonderful mother to them.

I took Venus to the vet today to get x-rayed. I'm confident in saying that I see 6 little skulls and spines! Can't wait to meet these babies in about a week and a half!

I'm extremely excited to announce that we will be having puppies next month! I took Venus to the vet this morning and confirmed her pregnancy via ultrasound. The vet said they saw at least 2 puppies.

Venus was bred to Deakon, a handsome show line stud owned by Grace Miyahara (Poindexter Border Collies out of California). I am so grateful to her and Emily Meena for allowing me to use Deakon for this breeding.

Thank you to Hannah Blackbird, my co-breeder, for giving me the best girl I could've ever asked for, and for being a wonderful friend and support system for me throughout everything.

Deakon is a wonderful farm dog, and, while he leaves herding to the others, he prefers to play mommy to the baby animals. He finished his AKC Championship at 10 months of age, and his Grand Championship at 1.5 years of age. He is a lovely, well-mannered service dog who dabbles in scent work. We chose Deakon for his good looks and amazing temperament. We hope to create more stable, driven dogs with this pairing.

Deakon is 21.25” at the withers and 52 pounds.

Venus is everything I wanted in a dog and more. She is a lovely companion and an even better teammate. We have played around in many sports and she loves them all. Her favorite ones are anything having to do with her nose. After this litter she will be taking a couple years off to compete in higher levels and grow her resume even more.

I am expecting balanced puppies that will excel in multiple sport venues. At this time, I am not planning to place any puppies on breeding contracts. Active families or people wanting to dip their toes into the sport world would make the perfect home for one of these puppies! All puppies will either be black and white or blue merle.

All puppies will be sold on a contract. We will place puppies based on temperament testing and structural evaluations at 8 weeks old. We do not allow people to pick their own puppies.
