Arnie, although big, is an absolute gentlemen! This gelding has big, smooth movement whilst being soft & responsive to all aids- making flat work with him easy & enjoyable.
He is also great on the trail! Has good hard feet, is sure footed, will weave in and around trees listening to leg aids and happy to plod along all day with dogs running in and around his feet.

While Arnie is quiet and well-mannered, he is very soft and responsive, so is best suited to an intermediate rider or above who enjoys a horse with feel, but also something they can feel safe on. He does have a couple of little quirks (happy to chat through those honestly!) however nothing major for the right rider.

Kimber’s First Time Wearing a Bit! 🤩

One thing I’ve always liked to do when introducing a bit; is to put the horse in a confined space for a few hours, along with a few scoops of chaff. Letting them hang out and munch away gives them a chance to get used to the new feeling in their mouth without any pressure.
I’ve also found this really helps encourage them to keep their tongue underneath the bit right from the start. While it’s not super common, some horses do get into the habit of putting their tongue over the bit — This simple exercise can go a long way in preventing that from becoming an issue later on!

It’s all about keeping things simple and setting them up for success early! 🙌

Monte went to his new home today!
This horse was definitely a one of a kind to have in training and I know he is going to make his new little people very happy 🙌🥹

🔉Sound on 🔉

Something that I LOVE to do with any horse that spends time with me, especially the ones that are overly sensitive to their environment/ sounds. Is hard tie them why I am working through my daily routine. Especially the days when it involves loud equipment such as the tools, the tractor going back and forth etc. Even if it is their ‘day off’.
There is not better way to really expose/desensitise a horse and teach it patience whether it’s a 6 month old weanling or a 20 year old than this!

How cute is this young gelding here to be re-started!
I was so happy to hear the words “take as long as you need with him, I don’t want anything to be rushed” from his owner.

Unfortunately when he was previously started he never had time to think and process which caused some behavioural issues and anxiety. So his time here will be all about working and learning on his timeline and nothing more!

Bree came all the way from NSW to visit and ride this girl! Watching them bond together during their first ride was amazing!

Starting this mare under saddle and helping her find her new forever home was a pleasure and I can’t wait to watch these two grow 🙌🙌

Look how he relaxed he is, can you believe when he first came here he was just one big anxious mess.

I’m so glad to be helping him find confidence in himself and everything around him, he is such dude!!

Reggie’s second ride and first time out of the roundyard last week- no lunging was done beforehand.

This is going to be one super cool dude- I had to add in when my horses came cantering up the paddock and Reggie didn’t even bat an eye.

From a super anxious horse to this, I can’t wait to show you guys what he else has accomplished when his time with me is finished! 🔅🔅
