Available for Adoption: Suzie

Suzie came to us from a shelter in Washington. She is a sweet, affectionate, and energetic 7.5-month-old Samoyed mix puppy (we are waiting for the results of her DNA test). Her foster has nicknamed her “the Energizer Bunny.”

Suzie is a playful pup with a big heart, but her enthusiasm can sometimes come across as a bit rough during playtime. Think of her as a teenager who needs some guidance – she wasn’t given the training she deserves in her previous home. Despite her exuberance, she’s a loving and affectionate dog who craves attention.

Her ideal match is a family with experience and the time to help her learn proper play etiquette. If you have another dog, a playful and confident companion would be ideal, so they can show her the ropes.

Good Morning Friends!
No inquiries have come in for Nitrox who needs a home soon. Will you hit your share buttons for this very nice boy today?

This handsome dude's name is Nitrox and he is ready to begin his life in a new home!
Nitrox is a 50 pound husky mix. He is 8.5 years old.

His family describes Nitrox as "A huge teddy bear. Nitrox is convinced he is the size of a lap dog. He is an amazing family dog who will take all the snuggles but still has the energy of a puppy for walks, running and to play."

Nitrox has lived with other dogs and is said to love them. However, he will chase dogs that are as small as a cat. He chases cats too. Nitrox has been excellent with children.

A young senior who enjoys daily walks, one should be committed to at least one walk per day. We are told Nitrox does well on leash. A large securely fenced area would be ideal for Nitrox to run around and play in. As is very common in his breed, he can be a runner. Nitrox should not be allowed off-leash in an unsecured area.

Nitrox is a young senior who would like to be active but also knows how to just hang out in the house with his people when it's downtime. Because his former owners kept a bark collar on him as a puppy while crated, his current family believes he is afraid to bark. Nitrox can be left home alone without anxiety but one must put the garbage bins away as he has been known to get into them when he's left alone! He can manage quite a bit before needing a potty break.

If you are looking for a FUN, sweet, and tenderhearted dog to join your family, Nitrox may be the one for you! He needs an adoptive home soon.

Nitrox is located in Graham, WA. For contact information please email: [email protected]

This is a courtesy post. Nitrox is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

"Ready for some FUN??!! My name is Tucker and I am ready to join an active family who will take me hiking and to the beach. I am an 8 year old, 60 pound perfectly blended mix breed boy.

I have lived with a small dog and stayed with a dog sitter who watches multiple dogs. I've been good with the dogs, making friends and being mindful of the smaller dogs. I will chase a cat so it wouldn't be fair to adopt me if you have a cat. I'm not aggressive, just like to chase! I would rather have a home with children who are at least 6 years old and older; toddlers make me nervous with their unpredictable behavior. I can get riled up by their activity and I'd rather not be around them.

I hope to find a home where there is more time for getting out to exercise. My people say I have the herding instinct in me. I would love daily walks again and time to play ball. I will admit that when I first get put on leash I can get excited (don't all dogs though?!). I may pull some so working with me on that and getting me out on a daily basis could help. I am a smart dog and I want my people to be happy with me! If you have chickens, I can round them up for you!

If you need to leave the house I can stay inside the home without causing trouble. I've had my dog buddy to keep me company so if you have another friendly dog at home who could use a buddy, we could keep each other company while you are out. I can wait quite a while between potty breaks but I'm a young senior right now so it's easier for me to do. When my dog buddy barks, I will join in. Climbing stairs is not a problem for me at this point in my life.

My people describe me as "a sweet, playful, wiggly butt boy who will make you fall in love!". I do my best to be a good boy and I think I have a lot to offer someone. I'm hoping to find my true forever home where we can spend the rest of my days together."

Tucker is located in Hubbard, OR. For contact information please email: [email protected]

This is a courtesy post. Tucker is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation

11 year old littermates Poppy and Momo are affectionate ladies who are longing for a family that will give them the love that they deserve. They enjoy basking in the warm rays of the sun and getting cozy under their blankets. They also enjoy sitting on the couch with their people while getting pets and kisses. Poppy and Momo are a great little duo in the car and wouldn't mind if they were included for ride alongs. Poppy weighs 7 pounds and Momo weighs 5 pounds.

Poppy and Momo are friends to everyone. They are enjoying the company of the other dogs in their foster home and, although they tend to stay close to one another, they would be fine with other doggie friends. It is unknown what they would think about a cat but they are so sweet that their rescuers aren't too worried. Poppy and Momo would be fine with calm, respectful children. Because of their size and the unpredictable nature of small children their rescuers are asking for a home without children under 10 years of age. Poppy and Momo are crate trained and housebroken but will need a family to be patient as they navigate their new home and routine.

Momo and Poppy are posted for Save-A-Mutt. They are being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. If you'd like to learn more about Momo and Poppy, please email: [email protected] or check out their Petfinder link: https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=WA630

These are not Old Dog Haven dogs. Old Dog Haven has not assessed these dogs for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation

🐕 MISSION MUTT MONDAY 🐕

Say hello to Rona! 😃

Rona is a sweet and happy bully mix pup with an estimated birthdate of 07/25/2023. She originated in Mexico and was brought to the states to find a brighter future as a companion dog. She came to Murci's Mission when her original rescuer wanted to seek additional assistance with placing her.

Rona is silly and fun loving with an easy going but willing to participate demeanor. She can be energetic, but she's accustomed to living in a home setting and she's doing well with her self control. She is friendly to cats, dogs, and kids and could be as active or relaxed as her new family preferred she be as long as she can spend time with the people she loves.

Rona is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained. She is easy to care for and will be a joy for any family seeking an affectionate and snuggly dog. She comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Her adoption fee is $300 and includes her leash, collar, ID tag, food sample, and medical records. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

Thank you for considering Rona!

ADOPTED TOGETHER

Longtime friends Loki and Fenrir are hoping to find an adoptive home where they can remain together. Loki is an 11 year old mixed breed (guess is boxer/terrier) who weighs 65 pounds. Fenrir is 12 years old, he is a 65 pound Norwegian Elkhound.

These boys sound like well socialized dogs. They do well with other dogs, they've lived with cats and have shown little interest in them. Both are said to be good around kids, but as they are aging, prefer older children.

Loki can get excited when meeting or greeting people, small children or elderly people could be knocked over in his excitement; best to avoid that! Fenrir sounds a bit more refined having served as an emotional support dog. He's retired now but he has retained his good manners. However, he prefers humans to display good manners too. Fenrir does not appreciate someone putting their face in his or when he's pulled on- totally understandable!

When the humans need to leave the house Loki and Fenrir are accustomed to staying inside the house, hanging out on the couch or the cool floor. They can "hold it" for quite a while if necessary, though most likely they'd rather not have to wait too long. Both dogs will bark to let you know a delivery or visitor has arrived. Fenrir will also bark when he's hungry.

Fenrir and Loki love their walks! We are told they are very good on leash. They both are showing signs of "minor" arthritis. Neither take any medication or supplements for that but it may help. As we always recommend, vet visit should be planned for the pair upon adoption. These boys are up to date on vaccines but it is unknown if they've had a full senior exam with lab work. At this time both can still manage stairs but those could become harder as they age. Both dogs love going for car rides and enjoy any time they get to spend around their family.

Described as being " wonderful, sweet old companion dogs who love their humans", Loki and Fenrir are ready to join a new home and stay for the rest of their days!

Fenrir and Loki are located in Stanwood, WA. For contact information please email: [email protected]

This is a courtesy post. Loki and Fenrir are not Old Dog Haven dogs. Old Dog Haven has not assessed these dogs for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

Yanni is still in need of an Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home.
We know many of you have shared her and we really appreciate that but
we are hoping you will hit your share buttons for her once more. 🙏

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME NEEDED:
(in W. Washington, Spokane and Portland OR only)

She is probably shih tzu mix? A spayed female, who weighs 23 pounds. Yanni's exact age is unknown as she was a shelter "stray"; she is at least 12 years old. This cheery, friendly, lively little girl likes everyone - dogs, people, cats and kittens. She's social and active, loves walks and is reliably housebroken. She takes two medications for hypertension and will probably always need fairly frequent baths to keep her skin from getting greasy. She does have separation anxiety so would like people around most of the time - dog buddies might do the trick as well - and she is a flight risk if she gets out of the yard or house. For both issues, good fences and friends around will be a big help!

Here is where you can read more about how to apply to foster for Old Dog Haven and what it entails.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but feeding raw doesn't have to be all or nothing. Making just 20% of your pet's meal fresh foods or a complete and balanced raw food can help your pet experience the raw difference! Here are a few ways you can incorporate raw into your pet's diet:
🐶 Use raw or pet-safe foods as a kibble topper
🐶 Feed 1 raw meal and 1 kibble in a day
🐶 Feed raw 1 day and the next day kibble
🐶 Mix kibble and raw together
🐶 Add quality protein toppers such as eggs or meat
