Incredibly overlooked genus of geckos.

These small, easy to keep geckos are simply amazing to watch and study their behavior. Coming from Madagascar, they range in size from 2 to about 4 inches.

You may know about Paroedura picta but the entire genus of Paroedura is fun and fascinating to keep.

The one and only frog I've ever had. This pic was from 15 years ago, when I had no idea what I was doing and was following instructions from a pet store. This picture always reminds me why you NEED to do research before getting any animal so they can live more than a month...

We're all packed up and ready for the show!

Over 9 pallets of tanks, lighting and goodies, along with over 300 geckos, Tarantulas, jumping spiders, lizards and snakes.

We're excited to see faces we seldom see, faces we often see, as well as friends of past and future!

Please be patient with us over the weekend at the store, you may find some items are out of stock, some shelves are empty, but all feeders are plentiful!

Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc. , Exo Terra USA , Tarantula Cribs , JB's Cresties , Thomas Greenhouse & Gardens , Reptile Dispensary NARBC: North American Reptile Breeders Conference, Apex Constrictors , Cardinal's Creatures

And one has stayed with me, hopefully as a future breeder.

I still cannot believe the differences in egg size of these two cave gecko species! Goniurosaurus huuliensis on the left and the common cave gecko, goniurosaurus hainanensis on the right.

Have you heard of a Cuban false chameleon?

We're quickly falling in love with these inquisitive, calm and easy to care for reptiles!
Three little captive born babies just crawled into the shop.

Here's a peek at today's project. So many great guesses! The month before Tinley Park is a whirlwind of prep work, so I'm not as on top of my messages or comments as usual. I appreciate everyone's patience as I work hard to bring fun new goodies to the show! Thanks, guys! 🙏

Riverine Leaf-Tail Gecko (Phyllurus amnicola)

Wow! The amount of amazing reptiles we have been seeing in the shop this month is unreal.
We just got in two of these wild little geckos!
Check out that tail!

Courtesy of Juan Carlos Pina Garcia. This man does amazing work with his animals. The level of care and love that he puts into his animals is unmatched.
He doesn't give himself enough credit, but I will.

First lizard species that was produced here, in 2022, was the Eastern Collared Lizard. Crotaphytus collaris. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them hatching!
I did mistakes with these guys but I'll be very prepared next time this species is bred here!

It is such a wonderful experience to work with the animals you love. To have ANY success in breeding such a rare species as this one, truly is humbling. Take a look at how CUTE this gecko, and their babies, are! Link in first comment.

I focus on lizards now but Scorpions is something that I also find fascinating!

15 years ago I discovered that you could go to a store and buy exotic animals. I love everything that has to do with wild animals but reptiles always had my interest. This is where it began for me.
I did every mistake you could think of, but over the years I've learned so much and I'm always happy to teach those that are getting into the hobby!
