We had a very doggy day today. This morning at Dogfest and taking part in the animals in need dog show, then meeting friends at the dog park for a good run. 🐾🐾

So sad to hear of Paul O'Grady passing away. He did so much for dog rehoming 😢

Maisey Grey starts the day with a desperate plea 🙏. She’s a bit depressed and here’s why. When she was first caught she had managed to escape GDS by climbing / jumping the chain link fences. It took us two weeks to track her and catch her back so now there is this anxiety over her because no one wants her to escape again. She’s not a scared dog and has never attempted that again. We can leave her in the park alone now and she happily walks with men and women without a harness (within the centre). Outside she would be harnessed as they all would. Because we have to be honest of course about what she did nobody now seems to want her 😔. She’s almost 6yrs old, maybe a bit older and is quite sad. The dogs she bonds with come and go and we see this also affects her. It was my fault she escaped, she hadn’t had a chance to decompress and I took a risk by leaving her in the park too early with others… and now I feel she’s paying for this. Please share Maisey Grey and help her get a home. She could easily live in an apartment, she’s very calm but does like to be with other dogs. In the beginning she would just need time to settle before being loose in a garden. She’s a great dog… her little sad face is killing us. Please share 🙏

We need an urgent foster for this lovely girl who is coming back to us after being adopted 18 months ago.

Due to human error, Jinksy got out of the house and went for another dog. Her adopter has therefore told us we must move her tomorrow. The kennels are full over Christmas but sadly current owner won’t wait until end of December.

Jinksy is great with people but she hasn’t been around children at all so need to be child-free and pet-free. She needs a strong handler as she’s strong on the lead and she will pull more if she sees another dog so it’s imperative you can keep her under control.

We have been put in an almost impossible situation so if anyone can help Jinksy over Christmas it would be a godsend.

She is great with people, loves travelling and is sociable both inside and outside the home, with a bit of stubbornness thrown in for good measure. Her only issue is with other dogs as she was attacked by one before coming to us many years ago.

If you can help urgently please fill in an application form at yappyeverafter.org.uk

Please only apply if you are pet-free and child-free.

The new sad boy rescued the other day is starting to cheer up a bit 😀. We went with the name Soldier as he was rescued on Veterans Day ❤️. He’s a big lad, very sweet, still sad but getting there. Let’s hope you can all just give him a share so he find a home ASAP… there he can continue his ‘happy’ progress ❤️

Gorgeous boy, hope he can find a home soon

We need your SHARES for an old man that needs to find a home ASAP. Cocker Joe was rescued by GDS in 2019. He was rehomed locally but due to big changes he’s come back much to his family’s distress. He’s 9yrs old, lovely on a lead, used to living in a home and good with other dogs. We really need your help as Cocker Joe mustn’t stay in the centre too long… it’s heartbreaking, so please share 🙏

A walked hound is a happy hound.

I love dogs. Always have, always will. I have spent a life time as a dog owner and have lots of experience of walking mine, and other peoples dogs and dog sitting while owners are away on holiday. I have three hounds of my own: Monty is a Basset Hound, he’s the sleepy, smiley one; Sid is a Lurcher - my first rescue and he makes me smile every day with his crazy ways; Spencer is a Foxhound - my second rescue and the menace of the family. We love going on nice countryside walks, meeting new dogs, having new adventures and finding new sniffs.

I also have experience of working in 2 veterinary practices so I am fully trained in doggy first aid. I have an interest in canine behaviour so if your pooch is nervous around other dogs, that’s not a problem, I can take them on a quieter route, and if they like to shout at other dogs, that’s ok too, we all have our quirks.

I offer walks of half an hour or an hour, depending on what you require, and can walk dogs more than once a day for you. I am happy to also feed your dogs for you if needed (with food you have provided, although not for half an hour before or after walking).

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to meet up to discuss your pets needs. I work from the Kettering area and within the surrounding 5 miles.
