Reno Rabbit Rescue worked with The Animal Place, Friends of Unwanted Rabbits, House Rabbit Society, The Rabbit Haven, Bunny Bunch Rabbit Rescue, and Contra Costa Rabbit Rescue to rescue and transport the 22 rabbits involved in this case.
Dr. Timmerman at Carson Valley Veterinary offered very FAST and LOW-COST vaccine and spay/neuters.

The rabbits that stayed in Reno were all adopted :)

Carrie adopted Buster
Amanda adopted Holly and Ivy
Roxxy adopted Portia and Ellen
Gypsy passed away before adoption.

***CASE UPDATE and JURY VERDICT***

CHRISTIAN LEE CLEVEN-CORWIN, 37, was convicted by jury on July 10, 2024, of 30 counts of felony animal abuse.

In October 2022, a deputy sheriff was dispatched to investigate a dog bite that allegedly occurred on the Lassen County portion of an Adin address. Upon arrival the deputy observed various animals in various stages of neglect, living in inhumane conditions, and the property littered with animal carcasses (photos from the Sheriffs Office below).

Four individuals were charged with 32 counts of felony animal abuse. One subject was not held to answer after a preliminary hearing, another subject is currently out on a warrant.

CLEVEN-CORWIN and co-defendant JESSICA WICK were both scheduled for trial July 8; Wick did not appear and a warrant was issued for her arrest. The trial proceeded against Mr. Cleven-Corwin resulting in the 30 felony convictions. Sentencing will be scheduled for a date in September.

We thank the jurors for their time and deliberation in this case. This case was investigated by the Lassen County Sheriff Office with assistance from Thompson Peak Vet and Lassen County Animal Control. The case was prosecuted by DDA Lance Cotton on lend to us from our friends at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Weighing in at 3 pounds, these sweet sisters need to be spoiled with food. They are both very friendly, they run up to you when you walk up to their pen, they eat treats out of your hand.
