Baby daddy roulette….

When Charlie came into heat, she broke out of the barn and was put out to pasture with two bulls…. We didn’t know who had gotten her pregnant but I was very hopeful that it was Arrow.

Results are in and Arrow IS the father ❤️ Little guy’s name is Ash.

Meet the herd…

Cupcake (black and white) and Juno (brown) are both Longhorn crosses who share the same dad. They are both roughly 6 months old. Longhorns are our son’s (Klayton) favorite cow!

Meet the herd…

Fiona is an almost 2 year old registered Highland. We bought her when she was 9 months old. She is very shy but she likes to lick your hand if you give her the chance.

Meet the herd…

Luna is a 3 year old angus cross that we bought from my sisters farm. She’s not very photogenic so I don’t have very many photos of her. She has one calf named Leo (Arrows offspring) and she is currently pregnant by Finn. We call her “Two Ton” when she’s pregnant because she gets so big she looks like she’s going to have twins.

Meet the herd…

Although Arrow is no longer with us, he is the father one of our calves and potentially one that’s on way. We bought Arrow when he was 4 months old with intent on him being the herd bull. Unfortunately, we bought Finn soon after and he proved to be the stronger bull and got to our girls before Arrow could. I am very hopeful that Arrow is the one who bred Charlie 🤞

Meet the herd…

Charlie is a Charolais heifer that we also acquired from a sale barn, along with her mother Clover. Her mother was a danger to myself and the children however so we no longer have her. Charlie on the other hand is the complete opposite. She is friendly and calm. She’s my favorite cow that we have. Charolais was always my dream cow. Charlie will be 2 in March and then have her first calf a month later. We had two bulls though when she came into heat so it is a surprise who the father is. My fingers are crossed for the red lineback that we no longer have 🤞

Meet the herd…

Finn is a 2 year old Highland bull acquired from a sale barn. He is the sweetest, most gentle boy we have. He was Kyle’s dream cow but once we got him, Highlands quickly found a soft spot in my heart and now we have two. Finn has fathered one offspring so far with at least one more on the way.

Hello, we are the owners of Hidden Hollow Acres. We purchased our current property in 2023 in an effort to more comfortably house our growing herd. My name is Kristen and Kyle is my husband. We have 3 beautiful children who share the love of all things farm animals…except mucking stalls. 🤣 I grew up on a small dairy farm and never lost the love of farming, while farming has always been Kyle’s passion. We have a variety of different beef breeds, and we raise and hatch both chickens and ducks.
