Hello! Just dropping in to say hi. 👋 Sorry we've been quiet lately. We're doing good, just busy. Right now the humans are having work done on the house - there are strangers here tearing the house apart and making noise, can you believe it? I'm trying my best to scare them away but they still haven't left yet. 😂 How are you all doing?

Happy 4th of July to my American friends! 🇺🇸 I'm enjoying soaking up the sun today. 🌞 Later the humans will be having a veggie barbecue and then we'll probably watch the neighbors' fireworks. 🎆 Hope you all have a safe and happy 4th!

Happy Saturday!! 🐾 I know it's been a minute since I've checked in with you all! I had my annual check-up at the vet recently and all is well, I'm a healthy and happy boy! I've had some interesting adventures lately though - I recently saw a coyote and a tortoise, and our neighbor got a new herd of sheep! So much excitement! 😱 How have you all been?!

HI EVERYONE! Chance here! Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but it's been a crazy few weeks... First, Mommy went away for a few days on a Disney trip for her birthday, and then shortly after that, Auntie had heart surgery! Mommy and I both have been very busy taking care of her since then. She still has a long way to go, but she's gotten a lot better, and I've been doing my best to keep an eye on her and cheer her up!

Chance’s mom here with some major bunny drama to share... 😬
We mentioned before that we discovered a bunny nest in Chance's yard and he's been obsessed over it. We've been trying to keep him away from the nest, but he got too close one day and it got spooked and tried to make a run for it. Chance chased, the bunny screamed, I yelled - it was a commotion for a second there. 😬😂 Luckily Chance was scared off by the bunny's scream (he’s afraid of squeaky toys, believe it or not) and I was able to grab him and throw him back in the house before the bunny was any further traumatized. The little one stayed in the grass for the rest of the day enjoying the sun until the mom came back in the evening and must have said "This is not where I left you, get your butt back in the nest!" Hopefully the bunny is okay, but we had a traumatizing incident last night.
At 2am I was awakened by a strange squawking sound outside. I jumped up to look and first saw a large owl on the fence, but then I saw a small shape on the ground and had the horrible realization that a rabbit was stuck in the fence and the owl was moving in on it, and the rabbit was screaming in panic. I ran outside and the owl flew away, but the rabbit was still stuck and I knew I had to free her. (I'm guessing this was the mother rabbit, though I don't know for sure.) Her leg was bleeding from struggling against the fence and she was kicking and screaming as I tried to help. We were in despair as we couldn't figure out how to untangle her with her fighting us, but we couldn't leave her to die there. After about a half-hour of struggle, I said to her, "I need you to cooperate, okay? I'm trying to help you," and amazingly, she calmed down and stopped fighting long enough for me to push her leg up and over the wire it was stuck on, and then she slipped through and took off with incredible speed. Hopefully her leg will heal and she'll be okay. We'll never forget the sound of her screams. 😔 Such a horror, but I can't believe I managed to save her!
After this ordeal, we hope there won't be any more rabbit trauma. We’ll share updates if there’s more news, but in the meantime, enjoy these photos of the baby bunny!

A tiny today! And boy do I have some drama to share! 😂 Mommy and Auntie are both sick and sound like they have kennel cough, but Mommy tested positive for COVID and Auntie didn't, so they're trying to take care of each other and still quarantine from each other. 🤦 And meanwhile, a rabbit made a nest IN MY YARD and there are BUNNIES living in my yard!! 😱 I am absolutely obsessed and can't get over it. Mommy and Auntie are being sooo annoying though and trying to keep me away from them! 🙄 I'll share more bunny drama in another post! How is your week going? 😄

Running into the new year! Is it too late by now for a New Year post? 😄
Boy has it been a year... and we're not even 3 weeks into 2024! 😂 Mommy's been super busy with work, and then Auntie came down with the flu. The humans have been so busy they haven't had time to take the Christmas tree down, can you believe it?! 🥴 Even though things have been crazy, we're hoping to get back online and share more of our pictures and adventures in the new year. 😊

Happy New Year's Eve everyone!! As you can see, I'm spending the night snuggled on the sofa, sleeping through all the pop-pop-popping going on outside, while my humans watch the last of the Hallmark Christmas movies this year. Hope all of you are having a safe, calm, and happy holiday!

Today is the day! Merry Christmas everyone!! 🎄🎅 Last night my humans took me for a ride to look at Christmas lights and it was so much fun! 😊 Can't wait to see what Santa/Mommy brought me for Christmas! 😁
By the way, who's excited for a new Doctor Who Christmas special after the amazing anniversary specials?! We sure are!

Happy National Day of the Horse from foster-horse Prince! 🐴
Chance’s mom here with a bittersweet update on our foster horses – they’ve all found a new home! 🏡 As much as our family would have loved to keep them all, we weren’t prepared to adopt three horses right now, so we’ve been fostering them until they found a forever home. A nice family with four little girls agreed to adopt two of the three horses, leaving behind Prince, a senior horse with medical issues, but they decided they didn’t want to leave him behind and agreed to come back for him as soon as they finished moving to a new, larger piece of property. In the meantime, we’ve been keeping Prince company and spoiling him with lots of treats – he was sad at first missing his two herd mates – but we just got word this week that the new family has finally moved to their new farm and are coming to pick up Prince this weekend! 🥰
While we’re SO incredibly happy that Prince will be reunited with his herd and going to a nice family, we’re all going to miss him; but most of all, we feel bad for Chance. Prince and Chance have had a lot of time together these past two months, and Prince somehow became Chance’s favorite of the foster horses. It’s going to be a sad goodbye for Chance, but we’ll do our best to console him. ❤️
Meanwhile, being fosters has made us have a lot of discussions about the future lately, and we’re starting to think about planning to get a horse of our own someday, and maybe even a new doggy sibling for Chance. Losing Buddy was hard on all of us, and we weren’t ready to look for another dog yet, but we think it’s time to start looking for a new four-legged member of the family. And who knows? We just might end up getting a much larger four-legged friend for Chance someday, too! 🐎

Happy Thanksgiving from this dynamic duo!! 😄 We wanted to share an update on the foster horses. The other two found the perfect home with a family with four little girls to love them. They didn't have space for all three but they're moving to a new property soon and should have room for the third one then. In the meantime, Prince is staying with us a while longer and we're doing our best to keep him company while he's here by himself. He's getting a bit spoiled and has learned to expect cookies at night. 😂 He'll be getting an apple and other goodies for Thanksgiving for sure! Hope you all have a happy holiday with your family and/or friends of all species! 😊

Check out my new (and quite large!) foster siblings! Long story short - our neighbor had to sell her property and is staying in a temporary place right now, and she asked us to take care of her three horses until she can find a new property. So, I now have three horses in my back yard! I was a little scared of them at first - even when I would see them next door, I wouldn't get too close to them and would pretend I couldn't see them – but I’ve gotten a lot braver over the last two weeks! Now I’m fascinated with them, and although they're still a little scary (and big!), I've been getting a lot closer to them and getting to know them. I even got nose-to-nose with one of them, and licked one of them on the leg when they came to the fence! Swipe to see pictures of me with my new horsey friends. 😁🐴🐎

Happy Halloween from our little pumpkin!! 🎃 He has recovered well from his surgery earlier this month and just needs to grow back his little bald patch! He also has some new, very big foster siblings of sorts that we'll tell you more about in an upcoming post! Hope everyone is having a fun and spooky Halloween! 👻

Chance's mom again with an update! His surgery (and dental cleaning) went well, he had no nausea from the anesthesia, and he enjoyed a chicken soup dinner. He slept well (and really didn't want to get out of bed this morning) and has looked a little more chipper today, although the Tramadol is helping to keep him mellow. The pictures are from this morning when he was enjoying some time outside - it was nice and cool, in the 70's with a breeze. Since then he's been relaxing next to me while I work, sitting on an extra dog bed on the floor next to his dog bed. 😂 We just have to get through these two weeks until he gets his staples out. Hopefully he'll continue to do well. Thank you all for your well wishes, thoughts, and prayers for our little boy! It is much appreciated. ❤️

Chance's mom here - please wish our little boy luck today as he has surgery to remove a lipoma. We've tried various herbal, non-invasive methods to shrink it but nothing has worked, unfortunately. It's an odd thing because it contained bacteria when we had the biopsy done; the vet suspected he had some break in the skin, like an insect bite, that bacteria got into and his body developed the lipoma around it. In any case, it's a bit large (maybe an inch round) and dense, right behind his shoulder, and he can't tell us if it's uncomfortable for him, so it's time for it to go. As a bonus, he'll be getting his teeth cleaned at the same time. Hoping all will go well today, he'll recover quickly, and he won't be too mad at me for leaving him at the vet all day! Swipe to see him during his bath yesterday, and then crashed on the sofa taking a nap after all the post-bath zoomies. ❤️

This is all about my Disney vacation back in May! 😁 Mommy and Auntie took me to Disney's Port Orleans Riverside resort for a couple days just to get away for a bit and to see how I would do; this is my first vacation as an only dog, since I went on two previous trips with my brother Buddy. It was a wonderful trip... even if things were a little stressful at first! 😬
Our "royal princess" room was late getting ready, and I was getting a little tired and impatient waiting in the lobby, even though the friendly people that worked there kept coming over to fuss over me. When we finally got to our room, I was getting a little hangry (since it was close to dinner time) and got a little grumpy with another little dog that walked by. 🥴 And even though I was hungry, I was fussy about my food and only wanted to eat the resort food my Mommy and Auntie had brought back to the room. 😒
But by the time my humans started to wonder if the trip was a mistake, things really turned around. We went for a nice long evening walk, where I saw so many things - fireworks, boats on the river, horse-drawn carriages, lots of rabbits, and so many other people and dogs. A lot of kids came over to see me and pet me, too, and I loved them! (I don't usually get to meet kids in my neighborhood.) I was so fascinated by all the different sights, smells, and sounds that I encountered on this trip. I even got to hear Yehaa Bob, the piano player in the lounge, from the lobby; I was really interested to watch and listen to him, and my little ears popped up when he started playing the harmonica! 😯😄
All in all, we had a fun trip, and even if it started out a little rough, my humans were proud of me for how well I handled my first solo-dog trip. They definitely said they would bring me back to Disney again! 🥰

The face of a happy pup on a long walk, on one of the coolest nights we've had this summer!
Hi everyone! What a wild couple of weeks it's been. Mommy went on vacation at Disney the week of Labor Day and got to have the unique backstage experience of being transported from first aid in the park to the ER at the nearby hospital. 🤦 Turns out she had low potassium, even lower than her sister earlier this year! Needless to say, they buy a lot of bananas now. 🍌 Then last week, my grandpa had surgery, so he's been recovering from that and my mommy and auntie have been taking care of him. I've been keeping an eye on him too, of course, and making him pet me to help him feel better! 😊
How are you all doing? Ready for the official start of fall this weekend? 🍂

Hi friends! Hope you're all having a great Labor Day weekend! I know I am - the humans had a yummy barbecue with grilled veggies and veggie burgers (all of which I got to taste), and I hear there's pie later with a taste of whipped cream for me! 😋 Going for a nice evening walk now! Mommy is going on vacation (without me 😢) this week but when she gets back, she promises she'll post my vacation photos finally, along with lots more pictures of my general cuteness! See you all again soon! 😊

Hi everyone! Chance’s mom here. We just wanted to pop in and let you all know that we’re fine, we’ve just been taking a social media break lately. We’ve had a lot going on, and we want to start posting again soon, but for now we just want to get you a little caught up on where we’ve been this summer.
In May, my sister and I decided to take Chance on a short trip to Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside resort. We had two great vacations with Chance and Buddy at Disney’s Fort Wilderness in the past, so we wanted to see how Chance would do on a trip now that he’s the only dog. He had fun, and saw so many new things, people, and dogs, but it was a little overwhelming for him! More about that (with lots of pictures!) soon.
June marked a year since we said goodbye to Buddy, and we all still miss him very much.
We also had a family bocce tournament this summer, and he was so much braver about the bocce balls, which used to scare him LOL. He was such a good boy with the July 4th fireworks too.
Other than that, us humans have been busy with work and house projects, and we’ve all been trying to stay cool in this extreme heat we’ve been having. Chance has still been enjoying time outside (he loves the sun, even in this heat!) as well as cuddles and treats, as always. We hope to start sharing everything with you all again soon!

I was a at the vet yesterday for my annual check-up! I had an afternoon appointment and the vet tech said I was the best patient of the day so far. 😊 That's me, always (usually) being the goodest boy! I loved getting attention from everyone and meeting other dogs, and the most exciting thing, sniffing rabbits!! 😯🐰 By coincidence, two separate people had brought in rabbits at the same time, and I got to sniff them through their carriers! I was amazed!! 😃 What's the most exciting thing you've met/sniffed?

Yesterday was my Gotcha Day! 🥳 Mommy made me a healthy, doggy-safe carrot cake because I love carrots, and cake, and I loved the taste I had of a store-bought carrot cake the humans had for Easter, but I couldn't eat much of it of course. However, Mommy's cake was too healthy and I refused to eat any of it. 😆😂 At least I liked the maple yogurt icing she made! It was still a happy Gotcha Day with lots of love and treats. 😊🥰
