(1)

For many years I had the privilege of enjoying the rural life on a small holding near Raglan raising and tending pigs, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens and Norfolk Bronze turkeys. I have been animal mad all my life and was the youngest member of the UK Phasmid Society (now the PSG) caring for, amongst others, the pink winged variety much to the rest of my families horror as I invariably let them out

for exercise then couldn’t find them! I will let you look that one up! Over the years I have looked after and / or rescued terrapins, tortoises, parrots, sugar gliders, budgies, ferrets, swans, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, rats, dogs, cats, donkeys, goats, hedgehogs, snakes, fish (cold water and tropical but not marine), lizards and of course hatched butterflies and tadpoles at home for the children to see! I have enjoyed riding since childhood and am qualified to BHSAI. I was Captain of Nottingham University Riding Team for two consecutive years qualifying for the University Championships twice but unfortunately was always soundly put in my place by a young Mr Fox Pitt! I represented Great Britain at the International Student Equestrian Games in America in 1990. I own two Working Cocker Spaniels who accompany me on a daily basis. I am a keen gardener although recently I don’t seem to get much time to do any at home! I am fully insured with Pet Plan business and have an up to date clear DBS check. Copies of the certificates and references are available on request. Testimonial from Kate Humble:

31 Dec 2020,

Heather Morgan has been walking our 3 dogs and house sitting for us for the last # # years (how many is it?!). Our dogs are not entirely straight forward - one is blind, one is an ex-cruelty case with numerous problems and the other is a working dog who needs a lot of stimulation and exercise. Heather’s knowledge and understanding of animals, her patience, kindness and faultless reliability have made her invaluable to us - and the dogs love her! We know if we have to be away for any length of time, our dogs, livestock and house will be looked after with scrupulous attention to detail and care. We cannot recommend her highly enough.

3 litres of milk from two lovely goats this morning. They managed a change of handler very well considering they were both first time mums. Off for some intersting porridge with a goaty twist!

What a way to start the day. So beautiful!

I never cease to wonder at the new beginnings each spring. It is a privilege to help look after the littlies.

A bit about Me!

I moved to Monmouthshire in 1997 with my husband whose father is from a Pontypool mining family. For many years we had the privilege of enjoying the rural life on a small holding near Raglan raising and tending pigs, sheep, ducks, geese, chickens and Norfolk Bronze turkeys.

I have been animal mad all my life and was the youngest member of the UK Phasmid Society (now the PSG) caring for, amongst others, the pink winged variety much to the rest of my families horror as I invariably let them out for exercise then couldn’t find them! My personal favourite children’s pet is the Guinea pig and we are great fans of Suzy’s great work at her piggy rescue centre. https://www.facebook.com/groups/GlynneathGPR/
