A huge gorl with an even bigger personality, this silly goose is FIE! We just met and are already absolutely obsessed with this giant goofball 😍 She is a Great Pyrenees Labrador mix and is an absolute delight. She had us laughing our way through the whole appointment with her happy, playful antics. The last pic is an action shot of her throwing a toy to herself 😂😂👏👏 SO excited we get to see her monthly from now on 🤍

This cutie is Zoey 🤍 She is a 9 month old doodle puppy who sadly broke her toe having too much fun a couple months ago 😢 Her owners were understandably nervous to have her groomed since the injury and reached out to me looking for a gentle, positive grooming experience for her. It meant so much to be trusted with her care and I’m so pleased with how well it went. I can’t wait to groom her sister soon 💕

Hanni the 6 month old toy poodle had her first haircut 🥹😍 This was her third appointment with me. Puppies’ early grooming experiences are so important for shaping how they feel about grooming for the rest of their lives, and that’s why I normally will not do a haircut during a puppy’s first appointment. There are so many new sensations and tools they will be introduced to and it’s super important to make a positive association with myself, the salon, the table etc. In my experience, focusing on the basics for the first few appointments (or however many it takes) really helps with keeping it positive and not overwhelming. During Hanni’s first 2 appointments, she did really well but was nervous about some of the noises and tools. I gave her owners some “homework” to help with desensitization and they really practiced. Her owners had been practicing using a pair of clippers with no blade, letting her feel the vibration and hear the noise while being rewarded for being calm. This time when I ran the end of the clippers over her body she didn’t act scared and I knew she was ready. I’m so proud of both Hanni and her owners for all of her progress!! This was a super fun first haircut 🥰 She is such a sweet, smart little pup and it’s a joy being her groomer 🐩

A very special pup came back into my life this week 🥲 It broke my heart no longer seeing Rowdy after I switched to the salon from being mobile last spring, and I am sooo happy his owners have decided it’s worth the drive to bring him to me ❤️ He’s a senior and since I saw him last has been diagnosed with a brain tumor💔 Luckily his meds are keeping him comfy and he was totally his normal self that I missed so dearly. Getting to have more time with him is such a gift and I couldn’t be more grateful 🥰 To all the clients like rowdy’s parents who bring their pups to me even though it’s not the most convenient, I hope you all know how much that means to me 🫶 the first few pics were from this time, I went down memory lane for the others 🥹

A major highlight this week was grooming Aspen the Great Pyrenees for who just pulled her from the Riverside shelter. The pics don’t do justice to how horrible her condition was, but she seemed to know I was trying to help her and was soo cooperative for the whole process 💞 whoever is lucky enough to adopt this girl is hitting the dog lottery!! Not exaggerating one bit to say she is perfect, a total dream dog 🥰

A couple months ago, someone came into the shop to tell me something that really touched me. He had parked on the side of the Arthur’s (our neighboring breakfast restaurant) parking lot that can see into the shop and told me that just from what he had observed (I had super lovey Leila the lab on my table) he wished he had a dog just so they could be my client 🥹 This meant a lot to me and actually brought some happy tears, it was just so kind and unexpected, it also led to a conversation about why he didn’t have a dog( his girlfriend is allergic). Flash forward a few weeks and he came back, this time he told me he had adopted a puppy! A 2lb Maltipoo and he was already head over heels in love with her. I can’t tell you how happy it made me to know he actually went and adopted a pup in need after we talked! Last week, I got to meet and groom her 💞 she had gotten into some paint and needed a short trim. This little one was so brave and loving through the whole process. She’s such a sweet teeeny tiny pup and I’m so excited I get to be her groomer! So beyond thankful for special moments like this in my little shop. It’s been 6 months in my brick and mortar and I truly couldn’t be more grateful to be here 🥰💖
